AMD-Update. Abbiamo già recensito il Lenovo IdeaPad 720s, e notato che si tratta di un portatile sottile e leggero per le attività quotidiane. Questo portatile da 13" non è disponibile con un processore AMD Ryzen 5 2500U come alternativa alla SKU Intel.

I tempi di risposta del display mostrano quanto sia veloce lo schermo a cambaire da un colore all'altro. Tempi di risposta lenti poccono creare sovrapposizioni negloi oggetti in movimento. Specialmente i giocatori patiti del 3D dovrebbero usare uno schermo con rempi di risposta bassi.

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Il display sfarfalla a 128000 Hz (Probabilmente a causa dell'uso di PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 90 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 128000 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering.

In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8943 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz was measured.

La nostra recensione mostra chiaramente che usare un design per notebook tradizionale lasciare una CPU Intel CPU per una AMD Ryzen 5 2500U non ha molto senso. Se Lenovo avesse speso più tempo a migliorare la soluzione di raffreddamento per la CPU AMD, l'IdeaPad 720s Ryzen-based sarebbe stata una vera alternativa ai processori Intel di ottava generazione.

L'IdeaPad 720s AMD-based è un portatile solido e potente, rovinato da una soluzione di raffreddamento scarsa ed inadeguata.

Tuttavia, la SKU AMD del Lenovo IdeaPad 720s resta un decente portatile da ufficio con una buona capacità per le operazioni da ufficio quotidiane e le attività multimedia basilari. Ci saremmo aspettati una prestazione migliore di quella offerta dallo SKU Intel recentemente recensito; sfortunatamente, è stato vittima del fallimento di Lenovo di adattare correttamente il dispositivo alla CPU di AMD.
