Un successo. Lo Spin 5 ha molto da offrire, incluso un veloce SSD, una tastiera retroilluminata e un potente processore quad-core ULV. Il portatile offre una buona autonomia. La batteria può essere caricata tramite porta USB Type-C. Il touchscreen può funzionare con le dita o con la penna Acer (disponibile a parte).

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

L'Acer Spin 5 SP513-52N è un sottile convertibile da 13,3". Utilizza un processore quad-core ULV. La CPU fornisce potenza a sufficienza per applicazioni da ufficio ed internet. Un veloce SSD consente una buona velocità di sistema.

Il touchscreen Full HD IPS ha molto da offrire, in particolare con angoli di visuale stabili e contrasto elevato. Tuttavia la luminosità del display potrebbe essere nettamente superiore. Il touchscreen può lavorare sia con le dita che con una penna (disponibile separatamente).

La tastiera retroilluminata fa una buona impressione ed è adatta anche a chi scrive molto. In aggiunta alla funzione stylus, questo dispositivo mobile e compatto ha anche una buona autonomia. Tuttavia la bassa luminosità del display limita l'utilizzo del dispositivo.

Acer ha fatto un ottimo sforzo per evitare molti errori fatti con il predecessore dello Spin 5 che avevamo evidenziato.

Il nuovo modello monta una porta USB Type-C (USB 3.1 Gen 1), che funziona da DisplayPort (con un adattatore da comprare a parte) o per caricare la batteria. Acer ha installato anche un lettore memory card che accetta schede SD cards. Il precedente modello aveva solo un lettore microSD cards.

In aggiunta, la memoria ora funziona in modalità dual-channel. Considerato che il modello precedente aveva solo uno slot di memoria, poteva funzionare solo in single-channel. Una piccola pecca: il nuovo Spin 5 non ha socket di memoria, in quanto è integrata. Questo significa che non sono possibili upgrades.
