Recensione breve del Convertibile Asus VivoBook Flip 14 TP410UA (i5-7200U, FHD)

Non privo di pecche. Il VivoBook Flip 14 ha un display IPS luminoso e con un buon contrasto, un veloce SSD e una tastiera illuminata. Il dispositivo ha anche il supporto per dispositivi di input separati sempre Asus. Tuttavia, con un prezzo di 900 Euro, il dispositivo non sembra essere un buon affare.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Il VivoBook Flip 14 offre prestazioni più che sufficienti per applicazioni da ufficio ed internet. Il dispositivo non si scalda molto anche sotto sforzo. Il display IPS touch è piacevole agli occhi ed ha angoli di visuale molto stabili, oltre a buoni valori di luminosità e contrasto.

Il touchscreen può essere usato non solo con le dita, ma anche con una penna Asus opzionale, che costa 50 Euro ($60).

Un veloce SSD rende il sistema molto reattivo. Inoltre all'interno del dispositivo troviamo uno slot SATA-III vuoto per drive de 2.5". La tastiera dal Vivobook dovrebbe essere più reattiva. Inoltre, si flette parecchio durante la digitazione. Ma Asus in questo caso realizza una tastiera che dovrebbe essere sufficiente per l'utilizzo domestico.

L'autonomia rilevata nel test Wi-Fi è accettabile. In questo caso, il dispositivo avrebbe potuto offrire di più. Invece di uno slot SATA-III aggiuntivo, avrebbero potuto inserire una batteria più grande per aumentare l'autonomia. Dopo tutto, si tratta di un dispositivo mobile. L'SSD da 256 GB dovrebbe bastare alla maggioranza degli utenti.

Nel complesso, Asus fissa un prezzo alto per un convertibile ben realizzato. Tuttavia, in termini di hardware, il dispositivo non ha nulla di eccezionale (es. SSD NVMe, GPU dedicata, Thunderbolt 3) che avrebbero giustificato un prezzo di 900 Euro. Per questo prezzo, pecche come lo chassis non rigido e la tastiera flessibile non dovrebbero mostrarsi. La RAM dovrebbe girare in modalità Dual-channel. Inoltre, ci saremmo aspettati che per 900 Euro la penna Asus fosse inclusa nella confezione.
