In review: Asus ROG G701VO-CS74K. Test model provided by Xotic PC

I fans ROG che aspettavano un sistema GTX 980 senza dover comprare la GX700 ora hanno una opzione più sottile con il G701. Se c'è poco da lamentarsi relativamente all'offerta del G701, è ciò che non offre che che rende i modelli concorrenti come MSI GT72S o altri Clevo barebones una scelta migliore. Per esempio, le opzioni di spazio interno del G701 sono limitati ad un M.2 ed il suo sistema di raffreddamento più leggero (e rumoroso) significa che la sua CPU si scalda di più rispetto al GT72S o all'Eurocom DLX7 nel test di stress gaming. Il suo potenziale overclocking è inferiore come risultati, il che delude considerando che la sua GPU è stata saldata per ridurre la rumorosità. Il sistema potrebbe essere molto più sottile rispetto al GT72S di circa 10 mm, ma la possibilità di manutenzione ne risentirebbe.

Nonostante tutto, il G701 è ancora uno dei pochi portatili che monta una GPU GTX 980 con buoni clock rates. Bisogna anche dare un occhio alla linea di portatili Pascal, quindi il prezzo dovrebbe scendere nelle prossime settimane e nei prossimi mesi.
