Il Panasonic Toughbook CF-XZ6 è un interessante sganciabile che ha delle ottime features - ma anche diverse pecche e punti deboli.

Se date uno sguardo all'autonomia o alla luminosità del display semi matto, ad esempio, avrete l'impressione di essere davanti ad un portatile di prima classe. Nessun concorrente regge il confronto con il Toughbook da questo punto di vista. Un altro vantaggio è la flessibilità: il Toughbook è sicuramente il migliore nel segmento degli sganciabili o dei tablets 2-in-1. Una porta VGA ed Ethernet è ancora importante per un portatile business e la batteria sganciabile vi consente la possibilità di avere maggiore autonomia. Ma nonostante questo, il Toughbook ha un case in metallo relativamente leggero e piccolo che appare molto robusto. Il modulo WWAN vi tiene connessi quando siete in giro.

Ma non è tutto oro quello che luccica: i punti deboli non mancano. Si parte con il display, la cui luminosità diminuisce troppo verso l'estremità sinistra e lo si nota ad occhio nudo. Il display usa anche il PWM e la copertura del colore è scarsa per un portatile di questo prezzo. Ma non si tratta del primo dispositivo ad avere questo tipo di problemi. I due principali dispositivi di input sono altrettanto deludenti: la tastiera ha un layout particolare, il che causa molti errori di battitura e il touchpad sembra venire dal passato con le sue dimensioni ridotte. Questi due punti da soli rendono quasi impossibile usare questo dispositivo per il lavoro. Considerando il tutto, possiamo perdonare la scarsa qualità della cassa mono, sebbene ci saremmo aspettati di più da un dispositivo che costa £1850. Questi non sono gli unici punti in cui Panasonic ha risparmiato. Ad esempio SSD piuttosto piccolo da 256-GB, è solo un drive flash SATA-III. Infine ma non per ultimo, dobbiamo citare qualche problema di qualità. La costruzione del case, ad esempio, non è buona in alcuni punti e talvolta abbiamo sentito rumori elettronici.

Non è per la massa: la qualità del Panasonic Toughbook CF-XZ6 è troppo inconsistente per competere con gli sganciabili di altri produttori. Probabilmente resterà un prodotto di nicchia.

Abbiamo posto una domanda nell'introduzione: prodotto di nicchia o per la massa? La risposta è chiara per il Toughbook - sicuramente un prodotto di nicchia. L'utente medio non sarà contento del Toughbook, quindi non possiamo raccomandarlo.

Ma se siete un utente che necessita delle funzioni speciali del Toughbook come una batteria sganciabile, display con alta luminosità o porte in uno sganciabile, probabilmente non troverete nulla di meglio rispetto al Toughbook CF-XZ6, nonostante le sue debolezze. Possiamo raccomandare il dispositivo solo ad un gruppo specifico - e con le dovute cautele. In ogni caso dovrete assicurarvi che la distribuzione della luminosità sia più omogenea rispetto al nostro modello - questo difetto sicuramente dovrebbe essere fatto presente al produttore.
