Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Il ThinkPad X1 Yoga ancora non è un dispositivo economico, indipendentemente dai suoi componenti, il prezzo è di poco superiore ai $2,000 per la maggioranza delle configurazioni (oggi: $2,267). Tuttavia, con un costo di più di $1,500 in meno il Core i7/OLED, forse sembra più avvicinabile dagli utenti business. E' non è il solo motivo a renderlo più attraente rispetto al modello WQHD: non ci sono cali ri prestazioni della CPU, l'autonomia è maggiore in molti casi, e le temperature meno elevate. Inoltre non c'è PWM, diversamente da quanto accadeva con la versione OLED.

Non ci sono grosse pecche sul ThinkPad X1 Yoga; se cercate un convertibile con cerniera a 360°, potete inserirlo tranquillamente nella vostra short list.

Di fatto, a parte l'assenza di risoluzioni OLED e WQHD (c'è una Full HD), la CPU leggermente meno potente, e l'SSD più lento, si tratta praticamente della stessa macchina. E per questo non ci sono molti punti deboli sul ThinkPad X1 Yoga: è un tuttofare, silenzioso, agile, ed attraente. Se cercate un convertibile con cerniera a 360°, potete inserirlo tranquillamente nella vostra short list.
