Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Toshiba fa un ottimo lavoro in molti aspetti e soddisfa una promessa dopo l'altra: La mobilità è più che ideale, grazie al peso ridotto, schermo antiriflesso con una luminosità elevata e un'autonomia da 12 a 16 ore. Le emissioni su cui ci limitiamo a dire che la piccola ventola è praticamente impercettibile. La promessa di un vero e proprio potente laptop con un buon utilizzo del Turbo nel formato convertibile viene mantenuta.

Lo chassis in magnesio pesa 1.024 chilogrammi, che è anche meno della specifica di 1,1 kg del produttore. Così, il Portégé X20w è il dispositivo più leggero rispetto ad altri modelli 2-in-1 progettati seguendo il concept Surface Pro 4 (keyboard dock).

E in ogni modo non ha paragoni rispetto ad altri modelli pieghevoli a 360 gradi. Il 12,5" ThinkPad Yoga 260 pesa 1,3 kg.

Le aziende saranno interessati al X20w poiché incorpora semplicemente quasi tutte le opzioni di sicurezza che il mercato ha da offrire - ad eccezione di SmartCard. TPM, lettore di impronte digitali, telecamera IR a infrarossi per Windows Hello, il BIOS di Toshiba, e Active Management di Intel ci sono tutti. Si aggiunge il pennino AES, come può essere previsto considerando il prezzo elevato.

In definitiva si tratta solo di piccoli dettagli che riducono il rating: il feedback della tastiera è un po' debole, a nostro avviso. Il Miix 720 stabilisce gli standard. La scarsa webcam impedisce registrazioni audio buone. Anche se viene data la connettività con le docking station Thunderbolt 3 (modelli fissi e di viaggio), l'adattatore è ancora necessario per il collegamento di un cavo HDMI o un monitor DisplayPort quando siete in giro. Il dispositivo non può essere ricaricato contemporaneamente in questi casi, poiché il monitor bloccherebbe la porta Type-C necessaria per la ricarica.

Volentieri diamo di Toshiba Portégé X20w-D-10R una raccomandazione di acquisto. Il prezzo elevato non è adatto a tutte le tasche, soprattutto non per quelle degli utenti privati o singoli professionisti.

Possiamo raccomandare l'Aspire Switch Alpha 12 senza ventola a tutto coloro che cercano un dispositivo silenzioso e senza throttling. Tuttavia la sua autonomia è relativamente breve. In questo caso il Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Core i5 con una ventola è migliore. L'Asus Transformer 3 Pro T303UA può essere escluso a causa della sua breve autonomia. L'IdeaPad Miix 720-12IKB che stiamo attualmente testando subisce throttling ed è troppo rumoroso.
