It is affordable and offers acceptable performance and a decent keyboard. In addition, it is not too heavy and has a bright 1080p display. The battery should last till the time your kid is done with online classes. If you feel that this laptop wouldn’t meet your demands, I suggest you look for the model with the Ryzen 5 CPU. It would be faster than the model I reviewed, but you have to shell out Rs 46,990.

One exception is Dell’s Inspiron 3000 series, which comes in three screen and chassis sizes. The Inspiron 15 3000 configuration reviewed here has a 15-inch screen, starts at just $293, and rings up at $369 as tested. It boasts all of the physical characteristics of a solid low-cost laptop, but this version suffers a bit from lackluster performance and, especially, ho-hum display quality in its lower price ranks. If your budget is strict, you can abide by these deficiencies. If, instead, you can afford an extra $30 or so, you can pick up an AMD Ryzen or Intel Core version with a full HD screen that would improve your computing experience immensely.

It improves on many of the issues we had with the previous 3505 model, and with the inclusion of Windows 11, the 3511 is already a step above its competition. The lack of a USB-C port, the subpar speakers, and the dim display are drawbacks to factor in, but it's still one of the better 15-inch budget laptops on the market, especially when you consider it's under $400.

EN→ITIf you can get the Dell Inspiron for a hundred dollars off retail, then it’s a great value, as it undercuts a lot of laptops in the $400 range. The Inspiron has enough power for moderately demanding productivity tasks, like heavy web browsing or moderate multitasking, and its size, weight, keyboard, and touch screen give it a surprisingly comfortable experience. At its retail price of $580, it’s still a good performer, but the competition is stiffer. However, the Inspiron makes compromises to keep the price so low. The screen is incredibly dim, and it lacks USB-C ports by default. Its performance is on par with other laptops at its retail price, although spending slightly more can get you a better product. If you catch it on sale, you can snag an HP Envy x360 15-inch laptop for about $600. It has a great screen, better performance than the Inspiron, a fantastic keyboard and trackpad, and nine hours of battery life.

EN→ITDell's Inspiron 15 (3525) is a peppy-enough and affordable-enough home or remote work machine, but it's not very ambitious; it does little to go beyond the basics. More the concern: It’s readily overshadowed by a number of machines that outperform and outclass it. Even if the Inspiron can get the job done today, its competition has the mettle to keep doing the job tomorrow in a way the Inspiron simply can’t promise. Plus, those alternatives are much more enjoyable after work. Many of its slightly higher-end rivals have to be on sale (and frequently are) to match it on price, but the Inspiron 15 (3525) is outclassed even by some similarly priced options, making it a difficult recommendation, with the Ideapad Flex 5i and bigger HP Notebook 17 offering a better value story.

Dell: Dell è un produttore statunitense (con sede in Texas) di hardware per computer fondato nel 1984 ed è uno dei maggiori produttori internazionali sia in termini di quota di mercato che di modelli di notebook. La sua linea di prodotti comprende desktop, notebook, sistemi di archiviazione, monitor, server, stampanti, elettronica di consumo e periferiche. Dell offre laptop adatti a varie applicazioni, come laptop aziendali, laptop da gioco, ultra portatili e workstation. I laptop aziendali Dell delle serie Latitude e Precision sono un'opzione per utenti professionali e aziende.
Nel 2023, Dell deteneva una quota di mercato di circa il 17% delle vendite globali di PC, classificandosi al terzo posto dopo Lenovo e HP.
Per gli appassionati di giochi, il marchio Alienware di Dell è per i notebook da gioco.

Scheda grafica entry level con 320 shaders (5 unità compute), 2 GB di GDDR5 e un bus di memoria da 64 Bit. Usa lo stesso chip della vecchia Radeon R7 M230, M340, M440 e Radeon R7 M445 (28nm GCN).
Intel UHD Graphics 620:
GPU integrata (GT2, 24 EUs) si trova su alcuni modelli CPU Kaby-Lake-Refresh (15 W ULV series). Tecnicamente è identica alla precedente GPU Kaby-Lake chiamata HD Graphics 620.
AMD Radeon 530:
Scheda grafica dedicata entry-level con 320 o 384 shaders (in base al chip usato) e memoria grafica DDR3 o GDDR5 (entrambe con bus da 64 Bit). Entrambi i chips sono stati usati da qualche anno, es. anche a partire dalla Radeon 8590M (28nm GCN).

Scheda grafica integrata delle APUs Ryzen basata sull'architettura Vega con 6 CUs (= 384 shader) e un clock fino a 1100 MHz.

Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
Intel HD Graphics 405 (Braswell):
Scheda grafica integrata nei processori della serie Intel Braswell (2016 Pentium). Si basa sull'architettura Broadwell (Intel Gen8) con supporto DirectX 11.2. In base al processore offre 16 shader cores (EU) e varie velocità clock.
AMD Radeon R5 (Stoney Ridge):
Adattatore grafico integrato per alcune APUs AMD-A dual-core ("Stoney Ridge"). Basato sull'architettura GCN, monta 192 unità shader e gira fino ad 800 MHz. Le prestazioni possono variare molto in base al TDP (15-25 Watts per tutto il chip).
Intel HD Graphics 400 (Braswell):
Scheda grafica integrata nei processori della serie Intel Braswell (2016 Celeron). Si basa sull'architettura Broadwell (Intel Gen8) e supporta il DirectX 11.2. In base al processore offre 12 shader cores (EU) e varie velocità clock.
Intel UHD Graphics 605:
Adattatore grafico integrato di fascia bassa con supporto DirectX 12, che si trova in alcuni SoC ULV della serie Gemini Lake. Rispetto all'HD Graphics 505, il 605 migliori uscite display.

R3 3250U: APU mobile Dual-Core che utilizza due core Zen+ con clock da 2,6 a 3,5 GHz (con SMT, ovvero 4 Threads) e una scheda grafica Vega con 3 CU con clock fino a 1200 MHz. La differenza rispetto alla vecchia Ryzen 3 3200U è solo la specifica di temperatura massima ridotta di 95 contro 105°C.
R5 3450U:
APU mobile quad-core che utilizza core Zen+ con clock da 2,1 a 3,5 GHz e una iGPU Vega con 8 CU in esecuzione fino a 1200 MHz.
Athlon 3050U: APU mobile che integra due core Zen+ (con SMT, quindi 4 fili) con clock da 2,3 a 3,2 GHz. Il TDP è configurabile tra 12 e 25 Watt (15 W nominali) e il Radeon RX Vega 2 integrato è clockato fino a 1100 MHz. Nasce dalla serie di APU Picasso (ad es. serie Ryzen 3000U).
