To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Il Chromebook Acer da 11,6 pollici è alimentato da un processore quad-core basato su Braswell. Questa CPU offre prestazioni sufficienti per semplici applicazioni da ufficio e Internet. Grazie alla soluzione di raffreddamento passivo, il SoC funziona silenziosamente. Un decoder integrato è responsabile della riproduzione video. Pertanto, i servizi di streaming possono essere utilizzati senza problemi. Grazie all'integrazione del Play Store, gli utenti possono installare tutte le attuali applicazioni di streaming Android come l'applicazione Mediathek sul Chromebook - questo vale anche per tutte le altre applicazioni.

Con il Chromebook R 11, Acer offre un notebook da ufficio con funzionalità che si amplia notevolmente grazie all'inclusione del Google Play Store.

Il display IPS touch-enabled ha angoli di visualizzazione molto ampi. Tuttavia, avrebbe potuto essere un po' più luminoso.
