If you're in the market for a small Chromebook, it's hard to argue with Acer's R11. The price certainly hits a sweet spot, and the laptop is a great machine for getting a bit of work done, kicking back for some tunes, and occasionally breaking it out as a tablet replacement. It may not be quite as stylish as the Asus Chromebook Flip, or as rugged as the Dell Chromebook 11, it sits firmly in the middle. One thing that will take some deep consideration, however, is whether Chrome OS is the right operating system for you. As I mentioned in the introduction, Chrome OS is singularly focused on a web experience, which comes at the cost of power and versatility. And as useful as the hybrid nature of the Chromebook R11 is, using touch with Chrome OS is still a mixed bag. This isn't a knock on the R11 at all; these are issues for Google to tackle, after all. Still, Acer's Chromebook R11 is a solid buy if you're in the market for something that will last a full day without breaking a sweat, perform adequately under pressure and otherwise serve up a great web browsing experience.

If the price could have been reduced and the overall laptop made slightly lighter with a better trackpad, the Acer Chromebook R11 would be top of the list for any aspiring Chromebook user. The Acer C730 or the Dell Chromebook 11 are probably better bets unless you really, really need the touchscreen.

If you decide that Chrome OS isn't for you, after all, Acer's Aspire One Cloudbook 14 is just as inexpensive as the Chromebook R11 but is a fully-fledged Windows 10 laptop. As such you likely won't have to adapt the way you use your laptop quite as much but with 32GB of storage, and even less than that after you consider the space taken by Windows 10, you've still got the same reliance on cloud storage unless you add in an SD card for storage.

This laptop may not be the best for media consumption with its lackluster display and speakers, but it absolute excels at delivering long battery life for work. With sufficient performance for any web app out there, it means anything from word processing to image editing can be done on this laptop.

Acer: Nel 1976, l'azienda è stata fondata a Taiwan con il nome Multitech e nel 1987 è stata ribattezzata Acer o Acer Group. La gamma di prodotti comprende, ad esempio, laptop, tablet, smartphone, desktop, monitor, TV e periferiche per computer. Dal 2007, il gruppo si è fuso con Gateway Inc. e Packard Bell, che commercializzano anche le proprie linee di prodotti per laptop.
I computer Acer sono progettati per una varietà di scopi, inclusi ultrabook per uso mobile, laptop da gioco per giocatori, opzioni convenienti per le attività quotidiane e laptop convertibili 2 in 1 per la versatilità. La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

Scheda grafica integrata nei processori della serie Intel Braswell (2016 Celeron). Si basa sull'architettura Broadwell (Intel Gen8) e supporta il DirectX 11.2. In base al processore offre 12 shader cores (EU) e varie velocità clock.
Intel HD Graphics 500:
Adattatore grafico integrato low-end con supporto DirectX 12, che possiamo trovare su alcuni SoCs ULV della serie Apollo Lake.
Intel UHD Graphics 600:
Adattatore grafico integrato di fascia bassa con supporto DirectX 12, che si trova in alcuni SoCs ULV della serie Gemini Lake. Rispetto all'HD Graphics 500, il 600 offre prestazioni di visualizzazione migliorate. Rispetto alla più veloce UHD Graphics 605, la 600 offre meno shader a velocità di clock inferiori.

N3060:
SoC con un processore dual core Atom integrato con clock da 1.6 - 2.48 GHz, una GPU Intel HD Graphics ed un controller di memoria dual channel DDR3L-1600.
N3160:
Frugale SoC quad-core basato sull'architettura Atom "Airmont" per portatili economici. Gira con clock tra 1.6-2.24 GHz ed include un adattatore grafico con supporto DirectX 11.2.
Celeron N3450:
Frugale SoC quad-core della serie Apollo Lake per notebook economici. Gira con clocks tra 1.1-2.2 GHz ed integra un adattatore grafico che usa DirectX 12. Rispetto alla precedente generazione Atom, le performance per-MHz dell'architettura CPU sono state nettamente migliorate così come è migliorato l'adattatore grafico.
Celeron N3350:
Frugale SoC dual-core della serie Apollo Lake per portatili economici. Gira con clocks tra 1.1-2.4 GHz ed integra un adattatore grafico DirectX 12. Rispetto alla precedente generazione Atom, le prestazioni per-MHz dell'architettura CPU erano state nettamente migliorate così come l'adattatore grafico.
