Recensione breve del Portatile Asus VivoBook 15 (i5-8250U, GeForce 940MX, FHD)

Non è ancora abbastanza maturo. Il nuovo VivoBook Asus sembra promettente: un nuovo processore quad-core ed una scheda grafica dedicata sono inserite un un case con un aspetto premium. Il prezzo di vendita sembra abbastanza buono. Se a primo impatto sembra simile all'ottimo ZenBook, guardando da vicino, è solo apparenza.

I tempi di risposta del display mostrano quanto sia veloce lo schermo a cambaire da un colore all'altro. Tempi di risposta lenti poccono creare sovrapposizioni negloi oggetti in movimento. Specialmente i giocatori patiti del 3D dovrebbero usare uno schermo con rempi di risposta bassi.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

L'obiettivo del nuovo VivoBook è inequivocabile: un portatile multimedia per tutti i giorni. Il produttore si è focalizzato sulle caratteristiche core della sua categoria ma non usa tutto il potenziale per certi aspetti. Sebbene il nuovo portatile Asus da 15" abbia un aspetto e una qualità premium, sfortunatamente sono usati solo elementi in plastica.  In termini di dispositivi di input, dobbiamo segnalare la tastiera spugnosa che è adatta solo per digitazione occasionale come abbiamo visto nel test della serie VivoBook-S.

Le cose vanno meglio con il display Full HD, che è ok per questa fascia di prezzo. Il produttore usa un pannello matto IPS in questo caso, il che non sembra essere obbligatorio se guardiamo ai concorrenti. Per quanto riguarda le prestazioni possiamo notare la potente CPU. Tuttavia, questo comporta un incremento delle temperature del processore, e il funzionamento delle ventole.Infine, manca un po' di autonomia in più, considerando che stiamo parlando di un portatile per "tutti i giorni" 

L'obiettivo del nuovo VivoBook non è stato raggiunto. Ma resta un buon portatile multimedia.

I potenziali acquirenti dovrebbero fare un confronto con i concorrenti. Se avete un buon budget, potete dare uno sguardo al più potente Acer Swift 3.
