Sottile portatile gaming. Asus mette molta potenza gaming in un sottile portatile da 17.3". Nonostante questo, il portatile non produce molto rumore o calore. A causa della disattivazione della GPU integrata, il portatile consuma più energia in idle rispetto al necessario.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Con il GL702VM, Asus offre un portatile gaming da 17.3" relativamente sottile. Ma non lasciatevi ingannare dallo spessore ridotto; il portatile ha una buona dose di potenza. Un quad-core Core i7 ed una scheda grafica Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 formano un duo che riesce ad utilizzare tutti i giochi attuali in risoluzione Full HD con settaggi massimi. La tecnologia G-Sync rende fluida l'immagine. Nonostante la potenza dell'hardware, il calore è limitato. Ed anche la rumorosità è contenuta.

 

Con il GL702VM, Asus realizza un solido portatile gaming da 17.3".

 

Grazie all'hard drive da 1TB, lo spazio non è un problema, tuttavia dovrebbe poter essere cambiato più facilmente. Infatti è necessario smontare il pannello inferiore, ed in questo modo è possibile anche montare un SSD M.2 (SATA o NVMe), in quanto c'è uno slot vuoto. Lo schermo IPS matto delizia con la stabilità degli angoli di visuale e la sufficiente luminosità. Il contrasto potrebbe essere più alto. La tastiera risponde alle esigenze dell'utente. Tuttavia se scrivete molto, potreste desiderare un modello diverso. A causa della disattivazione della GPU integrata, il consumo energetico è più elevato in modalità idle. Di conseguenza, l'autonomia della batteria è peggiori rispetto alle attese. Si tratta comunque di un aspetto secondario quando si parla di portatili gaming.

With the GL702VM, Asus offers a relatively slim 17.3-inch gaming notebook. But don't be fooled by the slim exterior; the laptop packs a good dose of processing power. A quad-core Core i7 and Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1060 graphics core form a duo which can display all current games in Full HD resolution with high to maximal quality settings. Nvidia's G-Sync technology takes care of smooth images. Despite the powerful hardware, heat development is within limits. The notebook's noise is also acceptable.

With the GL702VM, Asus delivers a solid 17.3-inch gaming notebook.

Thanks to the 1TB hard drive, the storage doesn't fall short, though it could be exchanged. This would require taking off the bottom shell, which would also be an opportunity to equip the laptop with an M.2-SSD (SATA or NVMe), since there is an unoccupied slot. The matte IPS screen delights with stable viewing angles and sufficient brightness. The contrast could be higher. The built-in keyboard fulfils the demands of household use. If you type a lot, though, you should get a different model. Because of the deactivated integrated GPU, energy consumption is higher in an idle state. As a consequence, the battery life is worse than it could be. This, however, is only of secondary importance when it comes to gaming laptops.
