Un dispositivo da ufficio. Con il suo Satellite Pro R50-C-16V, Toshiba presenta un bel dispositivo ufficio da 15,6" che difficilmente si riscalda. Un processore Core i3 dalla generazione Skylake fornisce la potenza di calcolo necessaria. Il sistema operativo Windows 10 Pro aumenta il prezzo del laptop a quasi 500 euro (~ $ 534).

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Toshiba realizza un laptop da ufficio basic da 15,6" che si rivolge principalmente agli utenti professionali con il suo Satellite Pro R50-C. Il processore Core i3 installato ha una potenza di calcolo sufficiente per l'utilizzo di applicazioni da ufficio ed Internet. Il laptop difficilmente si riscalda e lavora sempre in silenzio. Tuttavia, Toshiba non sfrutta il frugale  potenziale del processore. La ventola normalmente rimane inattiva in modalità idle, ma accelera in modo costante, inutilmente.

Grazie al disco rigido da 750 GB, non mancherà spazio. Bisogna aprire ilc ase se volete sostituire l'HDD con un disco a stato solido. Il laptop non ha un portello di manutenzione. La tastiera installata fa una buona impressione. Il laptop di Toshiba ha raggiunto un'autonomia di 5:56 ore nel nostro test Wi-Fi - un risultato accettabile. Come gli schermi di molti altri laptops, il modello Satellite Pro non è convincente. Toshiba si basa su un modello scuro, con basso contrasto, e angoli di visuale limitati. Solo le sue superfici opache sono a favore di questo pannello.

Il Satellite Pro R50-C-16-V è un solido portatile da ufficio.

Il laptop ha un prezzo di circa 500 euro (~ $ 534) - molti soldi per un semplice laptop Core i3. La licenza di Windows 10 aumenta il prezzo. Modelli comparabili di altri produttori, tra che montano un processore Core i3-6006U e sono alimentati da Windows 10 Home, sono disponibili per 400 - 450 euro (~ $ 427 a $ 480). I modelli senza un sistema operativo Windows sono venduti per meno di 400 euro. Questi modelli offrono un netto risparmio. Gli utenti che realmente necessitano di Windows 10 Pro potrebbero acquistare una licenza professionale Windows 7 e installarlo nel proprio laptop. Poi è possibile fare l'upgrade a Windows 10 Pro ancora gratuito.
