Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Questo HP da 14" ha potenza più che sufficiente per applicazioni da ufficio. E' tra i pochissimi delle sue dimensioni che ancora monta un masterizzatore DVD.

Il portatile è silenzioso, se la funzione "Fan always on" è disattivata dal BIOS. L'HP 14 si scalda difficilmente. Un SSD aiuta ad accelerare il sistema ed è anche possibile sostituirlo.

L'HP 14 è una compatta macchina da ufficio e per la navigazione internet.

La tastiera fa una buona impressione ed è adatta a chi scrive molto. Ma l'assenza della retroilluminazione è deludente considerando il prezzo del portatile. L'autonomia è buona.

Il display matto IPS è una gioia in ambienti chiusi. Il contrasto è molto buono e gli angoli di visuale stabili. La luminosità massima è piuttosto bassa e rende difficile leggere i contenuti dello schermo all'aperto alla luce del giorno. In Germania l'HP 14 ha un solo anno di garanzia, altra cosa deludente.
