Custodia - Il B7 Power è realizzato in plastica

Il case del PC è completamente realizzato in plastica di colore grigio scuro o nero. Grazie alla sua forma rettangolare compatta, è comunque abbastanza robusto. Tuttavia, non bisogna cercare di piegarlo troppo, perché si sente subito lo scricchiolio della plastica. Allo stesso tempo, la plastica conferisce al dispositivo un peso contenuto di soli 363 grammi.

La parte superiore del B7 Power attira l'attenzione per la presenza di una sorta di stampa a lente di Fresnel sopra il logo BMAX, che fa brillare il lato superiore in modo diverso a seconda dell'angolo di visione.

Il B7 Power è anche il più leggero tra i mini PC di questo confronto. Con 363 grammi, pesa molto meno dei modelli NUC di Intel (almeno 538 grammi). Il prossimo concorrente più leggero è il mini PC di Beelinkma con un peso di 440 grammi è già un po' più pesante.

D'altra parte, alcuni concorrenti come i NUC di Intel sono un po' più piccoli: la loro parte anteriore è più corta di circa 8 mm. Il Beelink ha misure simili.

Connettività - USB-C senza Thunderbolt ma con PD

Sul retro del PC si trovano tutte le porte necessarie per le connessioni permanenti, tra cui due porte USB-A per collegare mouse e tastiera, due porte HDMI 2.0 per collegare fino a due monitor, oltre a una porta LAN e alla connessione di alimentazione.

Sul lato anteriore sono presenti altre porte per collegare dispositivi USB esterni o cuffie. Qui si trova anche una porta USB-C. BMAX lo ha definito "completo". È chiaro che non supporta Thunderbolt, ma supporta DisplayPort, il che significa che è possibile collegare al B7 Power un totale di tre monitor contemporaneamente.

Questa porta supporta anche Power Delivery, come ha confermato il nostro test con due caricatori USB-C. Il caricatore da 30 watt di un MacBook Air non ha funzionato, ma un caricatore da 45 watt sì. Ufficialmente, il B7 richiede 19 V e 2,5 A (47,5 W).

Il B7 non dispone di un lettore di schede SD. Sul fondo del dispositivo sono presenti alcuni fori per le viti che possono essere utilizzati per collegare il mini PC al retro di un monitor utilizzando il supporto VESA in dotazione.

Comunicazione

Oltre alla connessione LAN Gigabit, il B7 Power può connettersi anche tramite WiFi. Per farlo, il produttore ha installato un chip di Realtek che presumibilmente supporta anche il WiFi 6. Ciò significa che è possibile connettersi alla rete a 5 GHz, ma non a quella a 6 GHz. Ciò significa che è possibile connettersi alla rete a 5 GHz, ma non a quella a 6 GHz.

Il mini PC è abbastanza veloce quando si tratta di 5 GHz. Tuttavia, utilizzando i "normali" 2,4 GHz si ha un'impressione completamente diversa. In questo caso, le velocità di trasferimento del PC nel nostro ambiente di test (proprietà in affitto, più reti sovrapposte nelle vicinanze) erano abominevoli - abbiamo misurato solo 100-150 MB/s.

Sicurezza

Naturalmente è supportato anche il TPM grazie al chip Intel, ma a parte questo il B7 Power non offre nemmeno un lucchetto Kensington. Tuttavia, è probabile che non siano in molti a sentirne la mancanza su un mini PC.

Ambito di fornitura e garanzia

Oltre al mini PC, il produttore ha incluso anche un alimentatore proprietario, un cavo HDMI e un supporto VESA con le viti necessarie.

Al momento il produttore non ha rilasciato alcuna dichiarazione in merito alla garanzia del PC. Le leggi locali in materia di garanzia dovrebbero essere applicabili.

Manutenzione

La manutenzione del dispositivo è facile e veloce. Solo 4 viti a croce tengono in posizione la piastra inferiore. Una volta rimosse, è possibile capovolgere con cautela la parte inferiore sul lato (a sinistra se vista dal davanti e dall'alto). Le due parti sono collegate da un cavo che collega la porta SATA della piastra inferiore interna alla scheda madre.

Successivamente, è possibile accedere a entrambi gli slot per la RAM, all'unità SSD NVMe e alla già citata porta SATA per HDD o SSD da 2,5 pollici. Per accedere alle ventole, è necessario smontare ulteriormente il dispositivo.

Sollevare con cautela la piastra inferiore

Prestazioni: lento anche per la Gen11

Intel Gen 11, in particolare ilIntel Core i7-11390Hè in genere una CPU decente, ma è indietro di qualche anno rispetto all'attuale tecnologia che circonda Intel Gen13, che si può trovare nel kitKit Intel NUC 13 Pro. Completano la configurazione 16 GB di RAM, con possibilità di upgrade, e un'unità SSD da 1 TB di nessun nome. Il PC non dispone di una scheda grafica dedicata, ma la grafica XE integrata nella CPU funziona con 96 EU a piena capacità. Il PC è adatto principalmente per l'uso quotidiano in ufficio e forse anche come console retrò.

Sul sito web di BMAX è disponibile un'ampia gamma di altri mini PC, tra cui il B7 Pro con un processorei5-1145G7. Tuttavia, il B7 Power è già l'attuale modello top di gamma del produttore.

Condizioni di test

Il B7 Power è piacevolmente spazioso, in quanto non è presente alcun bloatware o software del produttore, come Control Center, installato sul PC. Per ottenere i migliori risultati di benchmark, abbiamo testato le migliori prestazioni in modalità Windows.

Il nostro schermo rimaneva nero durante il primo avvio. Questo problema è stato risolto premendo la combinazione di tasti Windows + P.

Processore

IlIntel Core i7-11390Hfa ancora parte della serie Tiger Lake - due dei suoi 4 core possono avere un clock individuale fino a 5 GHz. Tutti e 4 i core sono abilitati all'hyper-threading, il che significa che 8 thread possono essere elaborati contemporaneamente.

Il chip può essere configurato da 28 a 35 watt (TDP), a seconda dell'orologio di base garantito, che può variare da 2,9 (28 W) a 3,4 GHz (35 W). Il TDP più basso sembra essere configurato un po' di più per il B7 Power. Nel nostro ciclo Cinebench R15, il consumo energetico del PC è stato di circa 30 watt durante la prima prova. Dalla seconda prova in poi, il B7 ha raggiunto solo 25 watt e solo per un breve periodo; per la maggior parte del resto di ogni prova, il mini-PC ha raggiunto poco meno di 20 watt.

Dopo la prima prova di Cinebench R15, le prestazioni del dispositivo sono calate di circa il 10%, per poi rimanere stabili. Tuttavia, queste prestazioni sono piuttosto deludenti nel complesso. Naturalmente, i NUC 12 e 13 sono nettamente superiori, ma anche il Geekom Mini di , con la stessa CPU, è risultato superiore di ben 17 watt con la stessa CPU è risultato più veloce del 17% in tutti i test sulla CPU. Rispetto alla media dei risultati dell'i7-11390H nel nostro database, le prestazioni della CPU del B7 Power sono inferiori di circa il 13%. Ciò significa che il potenziale della CPU non è affatto esaurito. Anche il B5 Power con Intel Gen8 è riuscito a malapena a superare il test Cinebench. I due dispositivi sono separati da un enorme 87% nel punteggio complessivo della CPU, ma c'è solo un 18% circa tra loro quando si tratta del ciclo Cinebench.

Latenza DPC

Il caricamento dei siti web non è un problema per il PC cuboid. È persino riuscito ad aprire facilmente più schede sul nostro sito web, in netto contrasto con la maggior parte degli attuali portatili da gioco.

A sua volta, non è riuscito a riprodurre perfettamente i nostri video a 4K/60 fps - abbiamo notato tre cali di frame - ma a parte questo, ha funzionato in modo abbastanza fluido. Questo rende il B7 adatto alla riproduzione di audio in tempo reale & co.

In confronto, le latenze dei NUC Intel erano più alte, ma i mini PC di ultima generazione di Geekom e Beelink hanno fatto un po' meglio.

Dispositivi di archiviazione

BMAX ha installato un'unità SSD da 1 TB nel dispositivo - questo è anche il modo in cui è etichettato ovunque in Windows e persino nel BIOS. Ovunque c'è scritto "SSD 1 TB". Per determinare il modello installato e il suo produttore, è necessario aprire il B7 Power e rimuovere l'SSD. Sul retro è presente un'etichetta. Un "Kston K765-1TB" non è molto conosciuto qui. In realtà non dovrebbe avere motivo di nascondersi: in confronto, questo modello ha comunque raggiunto velocità di trasmissione decenti. Solo l'SSD Samsung all'interno delNUC 13ha fatto molto meglio in tutti i test.

Sfortunatamente, le sue prestazioni sono state un po' limitate durante i periodi di maggior carico a causa dei limiti termici. Non è stata installata un'unità di raffreddamento, ma sarebbe consigliabile.

Anche nei benchmark 3D, le sue prestazioni sono state ben al di sotto della media. In media, la Xe Graphics G7 con 96 EU nel nostro database ha ottenuto prestazioni migliori del 51%! Prestazioni di gioco

Nonostante il nome contenga il termine "power", il B7 non è fatto per i giochi. È molto più adatto all'uso quotidiano come dispositivo da ufficio.

Durante l'esecuzione di The Witcher 3 Ultra, il PC ha raggiunto solo 8-9 fps in media. Il Geekom Mini IT11con la stessa CPU/iGPU era più veloce del 30%. Il Beelink SEi11 Pro- nonostante la CPU leggermente più debole, si è piazzato davanti a entrambi gli altri.

Alla risoluzione più bassa e con le impostazioni di dettaglio più basse, è stato possibile raggiungere una media di 48 fps giocando a The Witcher 3. A 720p e con dettagli medi, è possibile raggiungere 30 fps.

AncheFar Cry 5 può essere giocato a malapena con le impostazioni più basse (1.280 x 720, Basso, ~ 29 fps). Dovrete accontentarvi di giochi più vecchi o meno impegnativi e spesso solo con impostazioni ridotte. D'altro canto, consigliamo di utilizzare questo PC come console retrò, ad esempio in combinazione con RetroArch.

D'accordo - le prestazioni sono inferiori alla media, ma il B7 Power può almeno riscattarsi nella forma delle sue emissioni e mostrarsi come un mini PC silenzioso e frugale?

Il B7 Power ha una sola ventola. Anche in modalità idle, si attiva dopo poco tempo. Tuttavia, è necessario avvicinare l'orecchio al case per sentire questi 25 dB. Anche sotto carico massimo, la ventola non fa molto rumore: abbiamo misurato 27 dB.

Prime95 e Furmark sono stati eseguiti contemporaneamente nello stress test. Il clock della CPU ha superato brevemente i 2,8 GHz. Dopo un breve calo, il processore ha mantenuto un clock di 2,8 GHz per i successivi cinque minuti, dopodiché è sceso ripetutamente a cicli da 1,8 a 2,3 GHz. Le temperature dei singoli core non sono mai salite oltre i 78°C. Tuttavia, la CPU nel suo complesso si è riscaldata fino a 82 °C, ma in media è stata mantenuta a 78 °C.

Il consumo energetico della CPU è stato di 24 watt all'inizio, ma solo di circa 19 watt in media.

Consumo di energia

In generale, il B7 Power è molto parsimonioso. A seconda della modalità di alimentazione, abbiamo misurato tra i 9 e i 10 watt in modalità idle. Il B7 si dimostra molto parsimonioso sotto carico.

Il consumo massimo assoluto è stato temporaneamente di poco inferiore a 44 watt, ma in media il B7 Power non supera i 35 watt. Il suo piccolo alimentatore ha una potenza nominale di 47,5 watt (19 V e 2,5 A). In alternativa, è possibile alimentare il B7 tramite la connessione USB-C, a condizione che il caricatore soddisfi le specifiche minime.

Attenzione: se il B7 è spento, consuma comunque quasi 1 watt. Inoltre, le porte USB sono alimentate in loop. Di conseguenza, il nostro mouse RGB continua a illuminarsi anche quando è spento. Il BMAX B7 Power crea inutilmente una falsa impressione. Il processore installato è di due generazioni fa ed è molto lento anche per i suoi standard, poiché è strozzato.
