Il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 è destinato principalmente all'ufficio e all'uso multimediale. Il nostro dispositivo di recensione dispone di 16 GB di RAM e un SSD da 256 GB. Il PC viene fornito con Windows 10 Professional (il kit barebone no). Custodia e connettività

La cassa è fatta di alluminio. Tuttavia, la parte superiore e il fondo sono fatti di plastica. Il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 non ha problemi di rigidità. Per una migliore sensazione, tuttavia, sarebbe stato meglio se anche il lato superiore fosse in alluminio. Questo è solo un pignolo, però, perché non ci sono difetti visibili. La copertura superiore in plastica corrisponde al corpo in alluminio in termini di colore. I colori bianco e argento dominano, il che è una buona cosa, perché la polvere non si vede subito sui colori chiari. Questo non è il caso dei colori scuri

Il dispositivo può essere aperto rimuovendo la piastra inferiore. Quattro piccole viti uniscono la piastra inferiore al case. La RAM, l'SSD e il modulo Wi-Fi sono facilmente accessibili una volta rimossa la piastra inferiore. In termini di porte esterne, l'EliteMini HM90 offre molte opzioni per collegare dispositivi aggiuntivi. Un totale di cinque porte USB-A sono più che sufficienti. Inoltre, c'è anche una porta Type-C sul davanti. I display esterni possono essere collegati tramite DisplayPort o HDMI. Ma la porta USB-C offre anche l'opzione di uscita dell'immagine con l'aiuto di un adattatore appropriato. Così, è possibile collegare fino a tre display al Minisforum EliteMini HM90 contemporaneamente.

Prestazioni - Un sacco di riserve

Le prestazioni dell'8-core sono completamente sufficienti sotto ogni aspetto per l'uso quotidiano in ufficio o multimediale. Infatti, l'APU può gestire compiti semplici con grande facilità. Come dice il proverbio, però, avere è meglio che avere bisogno, come tutti sappiamo. I 16 GB di RAM DDR4 a doppio canale si adattano bene al sistema e forniscono il miglior livello di prestazioni. Si può essere divisi sull'SSD, ma 256 GB sono sufficienti per una build di partenza. Grazie al sistema operativo preinstallato, il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 è pronto a partire dopo pochi minuti di configurazione e personalizzazione.

Processore

Il AMD Ryzen 9 4900H appartiene alla serie Renoir ed è basato sullo Zen2. Il SoC offre un totale di 8 core con 16 thread, che è particolarmente utile per le applicazioni multi-thread. Nei benchmark della CPU, il Ryzen 9 4900H è in grado di superare la maggior parte della concorrenza. Le prestazioni single-core sono più o meno allo stesso livello di quelle dell Intel Core i7-10710U che si trova nell'Intel NUC 10. Il nostro esemplare in esame può anche tenere il passo sorprendentemente bene con lo Zotac Magnus One in termini di prestazioni della CPU, dato che il portatile da gioco compatto è dotato di una CPU desktop.

L'AMD Ryzen 9 4900H ha un TDP di 45 W. Tuttavia, il limite di potenza può essere aumentato fino a 54 watt nel BIOS del Mini Forum EliteMini HM90. Detto questo, non abbiamo visto alcun miglioramento significativo delle prestazioni nella nostra recensione dopo essere passati al limite di potenza più alto.

Nel ciclo Cinebench R15 multi-core, il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 riesce a gestire molto bene l'AMD Ryzen 9 4900H e a fornire un buon livello di prestazioni. Con un punteggio medio di 1880 punti, il nostro dispositivo in recensione si comporta abbastanza bene. Rispetto al benchmark eseguito una tantum, il risultato è di circa 100 punti peggiore. Prestazioni del sistema

Il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 rivela quanto sia potente nei benchmark sintetici. Il nostro dispositivo in recensione batte facilmente l Intel NUC 10 con il Intel Core i7-10710U. Rispetto al NUC Intel Ghost Canyon e allo Zotac Magnus One il nostro dispositivo da recensire non se la cava così bene. La ragione qui è la mancanza della scheda grafica dedicata, che è il motivo per cui le prestazioni sono inferiori nei benchmark sintetici. Il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 non mostra picchi di latenza sotto carico e durante la riproduzione di video 4K. Le latenze aumentano leggermente dopo l'avvio del video 4K, però. Archiviazione di massa

Il nostro sistema di test si discosta un po' dai sistemi preconfigurati sulla pagina del negozio del produttore avendo un SSD NVMe da 256 GB. Se non ordinate un sistema barebone, otterrete sempre un SSD da 512 GB, che dovrebbe essere sufficiente per la maggior parte degli utenti in questo momento. Il nostro modello da 256 GB va bene per la maggior parte degli scenari di utilizzo. Nella recensione, il nostro modello con l'SSD Kingston ha dato risultati decenti. Un totale di fino a tre SSD può essere installato nel Mini Forum EliteMini HM90. È possibile utilizzare un drive M.2 2280, che è già installato nel nostro sistema. In alternativa, è possibile installare due SSD da 2,5 pollici, che sono avvitati alla piastra inferiore e collegati direttamente alla scheda madre con cavi. Tutte le staffe, le viti e i cavi sono inclusi.

Scheda grafica

L'unità grafica integrata dell'AMD Ryzen 9 4900H è conosciuta come AMD Radeon RX Vega 8. Le iGPU delle APU Ryzen mobili esistono già da qualche anno, il che si riflette anche nelle prestazioni. Mentre le iGPU di AMD erano inizialmente molto competitive con le iGPU di Intel, le GPU integrate di AMD sono battute dalle attuali iGPU Intel Iris Xe che si trovano negli ultimi SoC Tiger Lake. Sfortunatamente, Minisforum può utilizzare solo l'hardware che è ampiamente disponibile sul mercato. Quando si tratta di prestazioni della GPU, il AMD Ryzen 9 4900H è il meglio che si possa ottenere.

Minisforum utilizza una ventola assiale per l'EliteMini HM90, che aspira l'aria fredda dall'alto e la dirige verso il basso sul dissipatore di calore, in modo che l'aria calda possa uscire dai lati del case. Il sistema funziona bene e non ci sono stati cali di prestazioni dovuti a limitazioni termiche nella nostra recensione. Quando si opera su una scrivania, gli utenti dovrebbero fare attenzione a non posizionare nulla sopra il dispositivo in modo che possa essere aspirata abbastanza aria fresca. Il produttore sostiene di usare metallo liquido per raffreddare la CPU. Tuttavia, non abbiamo potuto verificarlo perché smontare il sistema può causare danni al SoC. Sotto pieno carico, le temperature della CPU hanno raggiunto 86,3 °C (187,34 °F), anche se l'iGPU era leggermente più fredda a 74 °C (165,2 °F). Questo significa che il SoC non diventa mai troppo caldo. Se il SoC è sotto carico medio, le temperature sono ancora più basse. Sotto carico sostenuto, le prestazioni sono rimaste stabili. Il risultato del benchmark 3DMark11 è quasi identico all'avvio a freddo e varia solo di pochi punti entro le tolleranze di misurazione.

In termini di consumo energetico, il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 è abbastanza frugale, anche se Intel potrebbe fare un po' meglio con i suoi NUC. La linea di fondo è che l'EliteMini HM90 con il suo 8-core offre significativamente più prestazioni. Il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 è un mini PC molto compatto che per le sue caratteristiche è più un tuttofare che un classico PC da ufficio. Con l'AMD Ryzen 9 4900H, il piccolo PC offre un ottimo livello di prestazioni nelle applicazioni multi-thread. Grazie ai vantaggi di Zen2, le prestazioni single-core sono anche ad un buon livello e possono competere con i SoC Intel Comet Lake-U. Il nostro dispositivo in recensione ha 16 GB di RAM e un SSD da 256 GB, e offre prestazioni più che sufficienti per l'uso quotidiano in ufficio. Di fatto, il SoC è a malapena utilizzato nella maggior parte dei casi. Tuttavia, è bene avere un sistema molto a prova di futuro. Se accoppiato con una scheda grafica dedicata, il Minisforum EliteMini HM90 farebbe abbastanza bene come PC da gioco compatto.
