Recensione dell'Intel Frost Canyon NUC con 6 cores e 12 threads

Più di un semplice computer da ufficio! Il nuovo Intel Performance Kit NUC10i7FNHAA racchiude due dispositivi di memorizzazione, 16 GB di memoria e un moderno SoC hexa-core in un case minuscolo. Abbiamo qui riassunto come ha funzionato l'Intel NUC 10 durante il test.

Con i SoC Intel Comet Lake, la decima generazione di processori Core è già disponibile. Intel ora li integra anche nei suoi Mini PC, noti come NUC. Abbiamo ricevuto due di queste nuove unità a bare-bones da Intel per testarle. Abbiamo già dato qui un'occhiata più da vicino al modello più piccolo con l'Intel Core i5-10210U. In questa recensione, tuttavia, vogliamo concentrarci sul modello più veloce basato sull'Intel Core i7-10710U.

Intel offre entrambi i NUC in una versione piatta (36 millimetri) ma anche in una versione leggermente più alta (51 millimetri). Il vantaggio della variante da 51 millimetri è lo spazio disponibile per un secondo dispositivo di memorizzazione. La nostra unità di prova è completamente assemblata e dotata di 16 GB di memoria, un SSD e un HDD. Case e connettività

Per quanto riguarda il case, non ci sono molte novità da segnalare. Dal punto di vista estetico, i nuovi NUC sono simili ai dispositivi già disponibili. Ci sono anche due altezze del case, 36 o 51 millimetri. Il nostro dispositivo di prova pesa 697 grammi completamente equipaggiato. Inoltre, l'Intel NUC10i7FNH è dotato di un alimentatore da 120 watt, anch'esso particolarmente pesante a 372 grammi. Prestazioni - Più di un semplice computer da ufficio

L'Intel NUC NUC10i7FNH non è un semplice sistema per ufficio, perché l'Intel Core i7-10710U, con i suoi 6 cores, offre molte prestazioni che vanno oltre il normale lavoro d'ufficio. Pertanto, vediamo questo Mini PC piuttosto nel campo della creazione di contenuti, per esempio nell'editing di immagini. Dotato di 16 GB di memoria, che funziona in modalità dual-channel grazie a due moduli, Intel ottiene tutta la potenza disponibile dal SoC. L'SSD da 256 GB ospita il sistema operativo, e l'HDD integrato con 1 TB di spazio di memoria completa il sistema.

Processore

L'Intel NUC NUC10i7FNH utilizza un SoC mobile con 6 cores e 12 threads come processore. Questo rende questo piccolo PC ideale per applicazioni multithreaded. Con l'Intel UHD Graphics 620, questo SoC offre anche un'unità grafica integrata per l'output delle immagini. Poiché l'Intel Core i7-10710U è principalmente mobile, il SoC è molto efficiente dal punto di vista energetico. La velocità di clock di base è di 1,1 GHz. Tuttavia, il Core i7-10710U può raggiungere fino a 4,7 GHz in Turbo. Se tutti i cores sono stressati, tuttavia, si arriva al massimo a 3,9 GHz.

Cinebench R15 multi-loop

Il test di stress con il multiloop Cinebench R15 dimostra che il sistema di raffreddamento gestisce bene il processore hexa-core. Il primo risultato mostra il funzionamento con il TDP aumentato, che è disponibile solo per un breve periodo di tempo. Dopo di che, le prestazioni diminuiscono un po' e si assestano successivamente a 946 punti in modo stabile.

Prestazioni di sistema

L'Intel NUC NUC10i7FNH completa facilmente i benchmarks sintetici per le prestazioni del sistema e assicura punteggi elevati. I componenti installati lavorano molto bene insieme e con la generosa memoria (16 GB), gli utenti sono molto ben equipaggiati per applicazioni multithreaded. Il nostro sistema di test i7 è dotato di due dispositivi di memorizzazione. Il sistema operativo si trova sull'SSD M.2 2280 di Kingston. Dei 256 GB di spazio di memoria, l'utente avrà a disposizione ben 200 GB per i programmi di uso frequente. Oltre alla memoria flash veloce, c'è ancora spazio per un dispositivo di memorizzazione da 2,5 pollici nel NUC più alto. Nel nostro caso, è installato un disco rigido da 1 TB di Seagate, che non produce un risultato eccezionale nel nostro test a poco meno di 100 MB/s. Lo stesso vale per l'unità SSD incorporata. Utilizza l'interfaccia M.2 e offre una velocità PCI Express (PCIe x4). Ci aspettavamo però valori migliori nei nostri test. Tuttavia, l'SSD integrato non è lento e per la maggior parte degli utenti le prestazioni fornite saranno più che sufficienti. Se si acquista il dispositivo senza di memoria e spazio di archiviazione, è possibile installare un dispositivo di più veloce. Si consiglia di assemblare un sistema solo SSD invece di utilizzare il tradizionale disco rigido. In questo modo, è possibile bypassare il collo di bottiglia che quest'ultimo causa.

La già nota GPU Intel UHD Graphics 620 è usata come unità grafica integrata nei NUC. Rispetto all'Intel NUC NUC10i5FNK, le prestazioni 3D del modello Core i7 sono leggermente migliori. Tuttavia, la iGPU è solo parzialmente adatta ai giochi.

Anche sotto carico, le temperature dell'Intel NUC10i7FNH rimangono nell'intervallo acritico. La superficie del case si riscalda solo leggermente. Sotto carico con Prime95, misuriamo una buona 40 °C (~104 °F). L'unità di raffreddamento può tenere sotto controllo l'Intel Core i7-10710U senza doverlo limitare a causa del calore. Non abbiamo osservato lo strozzamento termico nel nostro modello. Misuriamo 84 °C (~183 °F) come valore massimo nello stress test con Prime95. Nel processo, il processore hexa-core continua a funzionare ad una media di 2,7 GHz. Il carico termico è il più alto nella prova di carico con Prime95, perché nello stress test con FurMark, misuriamo solo un massimo di 79 °C (~174 °F). Se entrambe le applicazioni vengono eseguite in parallelo, il SoC arriva fino a 81 °C (~178 °F). Questo non ha avuto un impatto duraturo sulle prestazioni 3D.

Rumorosità

L'Intel NUC10i7FNH è piuttosto silenzioso quando è inattivo e sotto carico moderato. Durante lo stress test, tuttavia, la ventola accelera e il rumore della ventola ad alta frequenza diventa un po' sgradevole a lungo termine. Sfortunatamente, la ventola si ferma raramente anche quando è inattiva, motivo per cui non sarà sicuramente silenzioso. Poiché il nostro dispositivo di prova è dotato di un disco rigido, può essere sentito anche a basso carico. Quando si usa in ufficio, la ventola è molto più silenziosa che a pieno carico, il che migliora la situazione. L'Intel NUC NUC10i7FNH è un potente Mini PC. Il nuovo Comet Lake SoC offre 6 cores e 12 threads, che rendono il dispositivo molto interessante per applicazioni multithreaded. Se si sceglie il NUC hexa-core, avrete 16 GB di memoria, un SSD da 256 GB e un HDD da 1 TB oltre all'Intel Core i7-10710U. C'è anche una licenza Windows 10. Se si vuole equipaggiare il dispositivo da soli, si può anche acquisire il NUC senza memoria e RAM. Tuttavia, una licenza Windows deve essere acquistata anche separatamente. Per il NUC "vuoto" sono necessari almeno 570 Euro (~$622).

Sei cores in un Mini PC - Intel fa questo nel NUC 10 NUC10i7FNH. In questo modo, le attività multithreaded possono essere completate in poco tempo.

Intel ha scelto di installare componenti all'avanguardia, perché con Wi-Fi 6 e l'Intel Core i7-10710U, uno è ben equipaggiato per il futuro. Ma quale NUC è il migliore? Alla fine, spetta a ciascun utente decidere quali priorità prevalgono. Avere un sistema così piccolo con 6 corese e 12 threads è già qualcosa. Ma ha anche un prezzo. Il modello Core i5-10210U, leggermente più economico, non è sensibilmente più lento nella vita di tutti i giorni. Se sono necessarie semplici applicazioni da ufficio, il modello più piccolo è sufficiente. Tuttavia, il NUC 10 NUC10i7FNH è adatto anche per applicazioni più impegnative come l'editing di immagini o il semplice editing video. Ma il NUC ad alte prestazioni è adatto anche come piccola postazione di lavoro per macchine virtuali.
