Costoso ma potente. L'ultima configurazione del Lenovo P70 dispone di una CPU Intel Xeon Skylake e passa come GPU alla NVIDIA M4000M, mentre introduce anche un SSD NVMe. Come questi upgrades influenzano le prestazioni complessive? Si tratta ancora di una workstation da prendere in considerazione oggi?

Molte variabili si combinano per creare una potente workstation mobile, ma quando si fa “bollire” il tutto, il più critico di tutti gli aspetti sono generalmente la stabilità, le prestazioni della CPU / GPU, e la velocità di archiviazione. Il Lenovo P70-20ER000XUS si rivela più che in grado in tutte queste categorie, giustificando il suo prezzo importante di $ 3,849, con i suoi elevati numeri nei benchmarks e un funzionamento affidabile. Rispetto alla configurazione . Rispetto alla precedente configurazione P70 che abbiamo recensito diversi mesi fa, questo presenta prestazioni di archiviazione nettamente migliorate con un nuovo NVMe SSD, una più potente (ed assetata di energia) GPU NVIDIA Quadro M4000M, ed un passo al lato con una CPU Xeon che apre la strada alla RAM ECC per una maggiore stabilità (16 GB preinstallato).

Vale la pena farci un pensierino considerando la concorrenza? In breve, sì, nel caso in cui benefici unici che porta (e le diverse carenze) siano allineati con le esigenze specifiche dell'acquirente. Le Workstations spesso sono definite come dispositivi senza compromessi, ma non è esattamente così: piuttosto, sono dispositivi che non accettano compromessi sulle prestazioni, ma in altri settori si. L'M4000M pur avendo fatto un buon lavoro, la ECC RAM è una caratteristica desiderabile, e la durata della batteria non è di estrema importanza, il P70 è un ottimo candidato e ha un prezzo adeguato.
