Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Sebbene l'Asus VivoBook X751BP sia etichettato come portatile business da 17", non ha mostrato problemi con contenuti multimediali. Il modello monta un processore AMD A9-9420 dual-core, 8 GB di RAM DDR4 ed un grande ma lento hard disk da 1 TB e costa 489 Euro (~$569) in Europa. Sfortunatamente, il display da 17" ha solo una risoluzione HD+. Il case è ben costruito con una base robusta e rigida, ed appare sobrio grazie alle superfici nere.

L'Asus VivoBook X751BP è un economico portatile business da 17". Si è rivelato un po' deludente per le prestazioni, e ci sono molti handicaps che lo rendono complessivamente poco interessante.

L'X751BP ci ha lasciato un'impressione mista. Sebbene le prestazioni siano sufficienti nel complesso, non è all'avanguardia. L'assenza di un SSD rallenta molto il sistema, e l'hard disk è lento. Inoltre non si comprende perché il portatile non abbia un pannello FHD. Considerando le prestazioni limitate, i consumi sono troppo alti, e l'autonomia è breve. I dispositivi di input rispecchiano l'aspetto del dispositivo. Non sono eccellenti e il feedback lascia a desiderare, inoltre i tasti sono rumoroso e sembrano cheap. Chi scrive molto sicuramente non ne sarà contento.
