Recensione breve del Convertibile Fujitsu Lifebook P727 (i7, 16 GB, LTE)

Un nuovo erede. Fujitsu era ancora uno dei pochi produttori i cui convertibili montavano ancora le vecchie cerniere a rotazione, ed il Lifebook P727 è il primo convertibile Fujitsu con vere cerniere a 360° che dovrebbe attirare qualche cliente Dell, HP, e Lenovo. La nostra recensione dimostrerà se questo Lifebook è in grado di farlo.

I tempi di risposta del display mostrano quanto sia veloce lo schermo a cambaire da un colore all'altro. Tempi di risposta lenti poccono creare sovrapposizioni negloi oggetti in movimento. Specialmente i giocatori patiti del 3D dovrebbero usare uno schermo con rempi di risposta bassi.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

È molto difficile emergere in un mercato ricco di dispositivi eccezionali. Dell deve ingoiare questa pillola amara con il suo Latitude 5289, ed ora tocca a Fujitsu. Partiamo con gli aspetti positivi: il case è costruito in modo particolarmente buono con materiali Premium ed è molto rigido; il pannello, sebbene non luminoso come promesso, si comporta molto bene, in particolare riguardo la copertura del colore; la connettività è unica - nessun altro dispositivo offre porte full-size VGA ed Ethernet o uno slot full-size MicroSD; la batteria è sostituibile dall'utente, sebbene sia più piccola della media, è un punto di forza, la tastiera è costruita molto bene ed è un piacere utilizzarla, ed infine ma non per ultimo il Lifebook P727 è disponibile con un modem opzionale LTE in alcuni mercati (attualmente non negli USA).

Sfortunatamente, ci sono anche alcuni aspetti negativi. Il P727 mostra di essere un erede della serie U Lifebook, lo dimostra soprattutto con l'orrendo touchpad, che era molto impreciso e fastidioso. E nonostante noi applaudiamo Fujitsu per aver inserito porte VGA ed Ethernet, l'assenza della Thunderbolt 3 è sconcertante. Poiché manca una porta docking proprietaria sul lato inferiore, gli utenti devono usare necessariamente soluzioni docking tramite USB-C. Un altro punto negativo è la temperatura della CPU che limita le prestazioni e non consente di giungere ai valori specificati e in alcuni casi risulta anche più lenta dei modelli Core i5. Ed a peggiorare la situazione, la batteria ha un'autonomia troppo breve.

L'eredità delle porte e della batteria sostituibile sono due punti di forza del Lifebook P727. Il terribile touchpad e l'autonomia sotto la media rovinano l'impressione che per il resto è molto buona.

Di conseguenza, non possiamo raccomandare il P727 senza alcuni limiti. Se avete ad esempio hardware datato, come un proiettore VGA, il P727 sicuramente diventa un'opzione molto interessante. Lo stesso vale per coloro che vogliono una batteria sostituibile. Per il resto l'Elitebook x360 ed il ThinkPad Yoga 370 sono portatili migliori con autonomia superiore e dispositivi di input migliori. In cambio, questi convertibili da 13,3" sono leggermente più grandi e pesanti rispetto al P727.
