It’s capable of performing day-to-day computing tasks smoothly and efficiently, making it a good choice for schoolchildren, students and casual users. And best of all, it’s available for a low, low price. Bear in mind, though, you'll have make some compromises for that low price. Most strikingly, the screen is below-par compared to most laptops, with a low level of brightness that makes it unsuitable for using outdoors. And the speakers are also lacking, so we’d suggest getting some headphones or external speakers if you want to listen to music or watch videos. If you’re happy to make those compromises, though, you’re getting a pretty decent laptop for very little money.

That the Ryzen 3 5300U – basically the lowest spec Ryzen 5000U processor offers pretty much the same performance as the Core i5-1135G7, that we found on the larger IdeaPad 3i Gen 6 (15″). This brings the 14-inch device to another level. Yes, the build quality is not great, but for that price, you just can’t expect better.

However, while the IdeaPad 3 has no fatal flaws, but it has a few disappointing ones, from a mediocre display and missing USB-C port. It’ll get the job done, but we’ve seen nicer economy notebooks on both the Windows and ChromeBook side of the aisle. We suggest checking out the Acer Aspire 5 (A515-56-50RS) or the Asus VivoBook 15 alternatives mentioned earlier if you’re resolutely pegged on a tight budget and must have a Windows-based notebook.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" dalla leggenda inglese, novo (latino) per nuovo) è stata fondata nel 1984 come società cinese di commercio di computer. Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.
Nel 2016, l'azienda si è classificata al primo posto al mondo nelle vendite di computer. Lo deteneva ancora nel 2023 con una quota di mercato globale di circa il 23%. Importanti linee di prodotti sono Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.
Nel 2011 ha acquisito una partecipazione di maggioranza in Medion AG, un produttore europeo di hardware per computer. Nel 2014 è stata acquistata Motorola Mobility, che ha dato a Lenovo una spinta nel mercato degli smartphone.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Intel UHD Graphics 620:
GPU integrata (GT2, 24 EUs) si trova su alcuni modelli CPU Kaby-Lake-Refresh (15 W ULV series). Tecnicamente è identica alla precedente GPU Kaby-Lake chiamata HD Graphics 620.

Intel UHD Graphics 64EUs:
Scheda grafica integrata nei SoC Intel Alder Lake basati sulla nuova architettura Gen. 12 (Xe) con 64 EU (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). La frequenza di clock dipende dal modello di processore.
La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
Intel UHD Graphics 600:
Adattatore grafico integrato di fascia bassa con supporto DirectX 12, che si trova in alcuni SoCs ULV della serie Gemini Lake. Rispetto all'HD Graphics 500, il 600 offre prestazioni di visualizzazione migliorate. Rispetto alla più veloce UHD Graphics 605, la 600 offre meno shader a velocità di clock inferiori.

Intel Ice Lake:
i3-1005G1: Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato su Ice-Lake per computer portatili sottili e leggeri. Integrato due core Sunnycove con clock a 1,2 - 3,4 GHz che supportano l'Hyperthreading (4 thread). Inoltre, il SoC integra una scheda grafica UHD Graphics G1 entry level e Wifi 6 / Thunderbolt parzialmente integrati. Il chip è prodotto nel moderno processo a 10nm alla Intel.
Intel Comet Lake:
i3-10110U: Processore dual-core a bassa potenza basato su Comet Lake (tecnicamente identico a Whiskey Lake e ancora prodotto in 14nm++). I core della CPU possono clockare tra 2,1 e 4,1 GHz (tutti e 4 i core a 3,7 GHz max.) con HyperThreading (4 thread). Il controller di memoria integrato supporta DDR4-2666 e utilizzando cTDP su/giù le prestazioni possono essere regolate dall'OEM (10 - 25 Watt possibili, 15W di default). La scheda grafica integrata clock da 300 - 1000 MHz e offre solo 23 invece di 24 CU.
i5-10210U: Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato su Comet Lake (tecnicamente identico a Whiskey Lake e ancora prodotto in 14nm++). I core della CPU possono clockare tra 1,6 e 4,2 GHz (tutti e 4 i core a 3,9 GHz max.) con HyperThreading (8 thread). Il controller di memoria integrato supporta DDR4-2666 e utilizzando cTDP su/giù le prestazioni possono essere regolate dall'OEM (10 - 25 Watt possibili, 15W di default). Rispetto al più veloce i5-10510U, la cache di livello 3 è stata ridotta da 8 a 6 MB.
Intel Gemini Lake:
Celeron N4020: SoC dual-core a bassa potenza della serie Gemini Lake per notebook economici. Funziona con orologi tra 1,1-2,8 GHz e integra un adattatore grafico compatibile con DirectX 12.
AMD Raven Ridge (Ryzen 2000 APU):
3020e:
APU mobile che integra due core Zen (senza SMT, quindi 2 fili) con clock da 1,2 a 2,6 GHz. Il TDP è specificato a 6 Watt e quindi il chip può essere raffreddato passivamente. La scheda grafica Radeon integrata offre 3 CU fino a 1000 MHz (Radeon RX Vega 3). Il controller di memoria a doppio canale supporta DDR4-2400. Il chip è prodotto in 14nm ed è ufficialmente conteggiato per la serie 3000 di processori mobili.
AMD Lucienne (Zen 2, Ryzen 5000):
R3 5300U:
APU quad core mobile che utilizza core Zen 2 con clock da 2,6 a 3,8 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con 6 CU con clock fino a 1500 MHz. Simile al vecchio Ryzen 3 4300U.
R5 5500U:
APU mobile a sei core che utilizza core Zen 2 con clock da 2,1 a 4 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con 7 CU con clock fino a 1800 MHz. Simile al vecchio Ryzen 5 4500U.
R7 5700U:
APU Octa-Core mobile che utilizza core Zen 2 con clock da 1,8 a 4,3 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con 8 CU con clock fino a 1900 MHz.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i3-1115G4:
Processore dual-core a bassa potenza basato su Tiger Lake per laptop sottili e leggeri. I due core della CPU sono clockati con 3 - 4,1 GHz e il clock integrato UHD Graphics Xe GPU con fino a 1,1 GHz.
i5-1135G7:
Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato su Tiger Lake per computer portatili sottili e leggeri. Prodotto in un processore migliorato a 10nm presso Intel.
AMD Picasso (Ryzen 3000 APU):
R7 3700U: APU mobile Quad-Core che utilizza core Zen+ con clock da 2,3 a 4 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con 10 CU con clock fino a 1400 MHz.
Intel Alder Lake-M:
i3-1215U: CPU mobile basata su Alder Lake con 2 core ad alte prestazioni e 4 core efficienti. I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper threading, che porta a 8 thread che possono essere elaborati. Il clock della CPU va da 0,9 a 4,4 GHz. Il TDP è specificato a 15 Watt.
