Beyond that its functionality is limited, but what more can you expect from an £80 tablet? If you can stretch to the £99 Hudl 2 you will find a noticeable jump in performance, but the Asus is the more portable of the two.

Si può tranquillamente dire che per il prezzo a cui viene offerto questo Asus ZenPad 10 è ottimo: parte da €229 (al lancio) per il modello da 8 GB di storage. È senz’altro vero che ci sono molti altri tablet più performanti e con caratteristiche sensibilmente migliori, tuttavia, utilizzando lo ZenPad 10 a scopo professionale o lavorativo (dunque utilizzando applicativi per la gestione di file e documenti, navigazione in Rete, ecc.), l’esperienza d’uso è di buon livello.

If you want to watch videos and listen to music without headphones then the ZenPad’s stereo speaker dock is well worth having. It really does sound very good. They keyboard isn’t great, but it is better than most no-name, third-party Bluetooth affairs.

Asus sforna un prodotto equilibrato, osservato singolarmente. Allargare gli orizzonti e valutare il buon impatto delle cover, è la chiave di lettura di questo tablet. Complessivamente Asus ZenPad 8.0 è un buon prodotto per consumare contenuti, sopratutto video grazie alla Audio Cover e a suo display da 8 pollici. La ZenUI e il suo enorme pacchetto di applicazioni, spingono anche alla produzione di contenuti, purtroppo ZenPad 8.0 non riesce a stare dietro alle volontà di Asus. In fondo, lavorare in maniera professionale con un tablet Android è difficile, se non impossibile, per tutti. Se queste sentenza è valida, Asus ZenPad 8.0 riesce ad essere un buonissimo compagno di viaggi.

Inoltre il valore aggiunto dato alla garanzia ZenCare+ è da tenere in considerazione benché non sia tra le caratteristiche a cui si pensa spesso e volentieri (o ci si pensa solamente in caso di bisogno). Un flash per la fotocamera posteriore sarebbe stata una soluzione gradita così da evitare problemi durante lo scatto in condizioni sfavorevoli di luminosità mentre rimane il dubbio sull'aggiornamento a Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) per via delle tempistiche ancora incerte.

Giudizio del team : esteticamente a noi è apparso molto bello, ben definito e sicuramente poco pesante anche considerando che non ha slot per inserire micro o nano sim. Bello lo schermo, molto ampio che poteva anche essere di 10 pollici e non lo è per poco davvero ma soprattutto si vede davvero molto bene con una definizione chiarissima dei colori e soprattutto realistica. Il processore esa core lavora davvero molto bene anche se il dual core soltanto raggiunge e supera i 2 GHz di potenza.

Giudizio del team : questo tablet è senza dubbio molto bello esteticamente con un peso non eccessivo e con una fotocamera frontale posta sul retro non centralmente ma lateralmente in un angolo. Presenta un interessantissimo schermo che non raggiunge gli 8 pollici e che ovviamente avremmo preferito fosse stato di 10 pollici giusto per godere di una visualizzazione grafica ancora migliore dato che la scheda GPU è una potente Adreno ed il pannello IPS LCD sfrutta davvero alla grande i colori anche grazie ad una buona pixel density e ad una risoluzione elevata.

Fin dalle prime ore di utilizzo, tolto dalla confezione, ci si rende conto che ASUS ha svolto un lavoro davvero magistrale con questo prodotto. Alcune sbavature sono presenti, non lo nascondo, ma il prodotto finale è decisamente sopra la media – e di molto.

Asus ZenPad 3S 10 ci ha convinto appieno per quanto riguarda il comparto multimediale, è un piccolo cinema portatile forte di un gran bel display e di un audio di grande qualità sia da altoparlante che in cuffia. E’ dotato di tutta la connettività necessaria e di un hardware all’altezza della situazione. Il software ha alcune punte di pregio ma annega in un bicchiere d’acqua se consideriamo la piacevolezza d’uso e la gestione della user interface. Insomma un prodotto assolutamente valido a patto che veniate a compromessi con un sistema del robottino verde ancora lontano dalla perfezione sugli schermi oltre i 6 pollici.

Anche se i punti negativi dello ZenPad 3S 10 LTE superano quelli positivi, il tablet premium di Asus non sono di certo dispositivi malvagi. Quello che ci piace meno è il fatto che, rispetto al fratello minore, la scheda tecnica sia cambiata radicalmente in alcuni punti chiave, soprattutto se si pensa ad un prezzo più alto. Parliamo della mancanza di un sensore di impronte digitali, una memoria eMMC molto lenta con solo 32 GB di capacità, nessun chip NFC e tasti di navigazione non retroilluminati.

Asus ZenPad 3S 10 LTE non rivoluziona e non innova, ma costa il giusto ed è equilibrato. Tra i modelli di nuova generazione, ha le memorie più veloci e le temperature a regime più basse. La sua autonomia copre almeno un week end fuori casa e la sua qualità costruttiva non richiede l'uso di una custodia. Asus ha cambiato piattaforma hardware e tolto qualche comodità (lettore di impronte digitali su tutte) ma il risultato è un altro prodotto Android che merita attenzione. Il consiglio è di non giudicarlo troppo in fretta. Provare la ZenUI 3.0 di sfuggita al centro commerciale può lasciare un'esperienza utente troppo pompata, molto meno limata di quel che si può ottenere con un po' di pulizia. Il prossimo passo dell'azienda di Taiwan dovrà essere questo: tornare ad un Android più essenziale, più elegante, meglio personalizzato. Nell'attesa, a 350 euro online, ZenPad 3S 10 resta uno dei tablet consigliati per l'estate 2017.

Giudizio del team : non vi è dubbio che la Asus ha azzeccato anche questa serie di tablet a cui ha dato il nome di Zenpad. Sin dai primi modelli abbiamo notato una robustezza del corpo, una linearità ed ergonomia importanti ed un peso non eccessivamente alto. In particolare questo tablet Asus Zenpad Z10 ZT500KL è davvero molto interessante sotto il profilo hardware con un potentissimo chipset anche se il processore non supera i 2 Ghz ma si avvicina con il quad-core (ricordiamo infatti che è un esa-core suddiviso in quad-core e dual-core, quest'ultimo meno potente).

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. è un importante produttore taiwanese di hardware per computer con sede a Taipei, fondato nel 1989. Con il marchio Asus, l'azienda produce un'ampia gamma di prodotti, tra cui laptop, desktop, schede madri, schede grafiche, monitor, smartphone e apparecchiature di rete , sistemi completi e componenti PC per utenti finali.

Con il marchio ROG (Republic of Gamers), ASUS produce laptop da gioco conosciuti dai giocatori per le loro potenti specifiche, schede grafiche dedicate, display ad alta frequenza di aggiornamento e sistemi di raffreddamento avanzati.

Oltre ai giochi, viene offerta un'ampia gamma di notebook per esigenze e budget diversi, dagli ultrabook ultrasottili e leggeri ai versatili convertibili 2 in 1 e alle opzioni economiche. Nel 2023, Asus deteneva una quota di mercato globale del 7% del mercato dei PC.

La soddisfazione del cliente per i notebook ASUS riguarda le prestazioni, le caratteristiche e il buon rapporto prezzo-prestazioni dei notebook ASUS. Tuttavia, come con qualsiasi marca, ci sono segnalazioni occasionali di problemi come surriscaldamento, compatibilità dei driver o problemi di qualità costruttiva.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

Imagination PowerVR G6430:

Scheda grafica multi core (4 cluster) per processori ARM che supporta OpenGL 4.x and ES 3.0

Qualcomm Adreno 510:

Scheda grafica integrata basata sull'architettura Adreno 500, come la Adreno 520 dello Snapdragon 820. Le performance dovrebbero essere in media simili alla vecchia Adreno 330 dello Snapdragon 801. Supporta DirectX12, OpenCL 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.1 + AE.

Imagination PowerVR GX6250:

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Intel Atom:

La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).

I display con dimensioni maggiori consentono risoluzioni più elevate. Quindi, i dettagli come le lettere sono più grandi. D'altro canto, il consumo energetico è inferiore negli schermi con diagonali piccole e su dispositivi più piccoli, più leggeri ed economici.
