The Alienware m17 really impressed my with how lightweight and easy it was to carry around, while offering a generous 17.3" screen, and stellar performance – all for £2,349. The screen looks fantastic and you'll be able to run AAA titles at max settings without compromise. The only downside is the noise if the fans when they inevitably kick in and the too-hot-to-handle temperature, but as long as you have a pair of headphones and somewhere other than your lap to rest it, it's not too much of a problem. If size matters - even on the go - you can't go wrong with the Alienware m17 and it won't break the bank.

Alienware m17 R4 review: All of the gaming power, none of the bulk

Recommending the Alienware m17 R4 is both easy and difficult for me. As much as I love the idea of having all this gaming performance in a portable and relatively small package, its price veers into "you can get more with a desktop" territory. That feeling is intensified by the laptop's short battery life, which limits its usefulness as a mobile device. I mean, if you're going to be tethered to a power cord anyway, it's just one more reason to get a desktop. On the other hand, the m17 R4 is a complete package -- right down to its clicky Cherry MX mechanical keyboard. It's slim, it looks fantastic and the components will keep your frame rates high for years. If you're looking for something for travel but not to necessarily use between points A and B, it's a fantastic choice. And if you've got no room for a desktop in your life, the choice is even easier.

As a gamer, I’m excited to get my hands on the Alienware m17 R5 Ryzen Edition. The amount of power tucked under the hood is extremely impressive and should deliver the kind of AAA gaming experiences I seek. The 17.3-inch screen is another aspect that excites me since I want to see every juicy detail produced by the powerful AMD graphics cards. The only drawback I can foresee with this laptop is the price of higher-end models. $1,599 for the base model alone may be too much for the average gamer. I can only imagine how much beefier rigs will cost. With that said, those who can afford the more expensive models should get their money’s worth. The Alienware m17 R5 Ryzen Edition is clearly a gaming laptop made by gamers, for gamers. It may indeed land in our best gaming laptops of 2022.

The collaboration has lived up to the hype and did just what they set out to do, create the most powerful 17-inch AMD gaming laptop in the Alienware m15 R5. Alienware: Alienware è stata fondata negli Stati Uniti nel 1996. La sede europea si trova in Irlanda. Alienware fa parte del gruppo Dell dal 2006. La gamma di prodotti si concentra principalmente su laptop e desktop da gioco, sviluppati e prodotti da Dell. Il marchio è un design leggermente futuristico con un alieno come logo. Vengono inoltre vendute postazioni di lavoro per clienti privati e commerciali.
Come con ogni marchio, ci sono anche alcuni punti critici con Alienware. Alcuni clienti si sono lamentati dei prezzi elevati dei prodotti, mentre altri hanno criticato la qualità del servizio clienti. Sono stati inoltre segnalati problemi relativi all'affidabilità e alla durata di alcuni prodotti Alienware. Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).
