Se pensate in ottica portabilità e produttività si tratta a mio avviso di una buona scelta, tra le più appetibili in rapporto qualità/prezzo. La pecca, come già evidenziato, è la mancanza di materiali raffinati e una costruzione più ricercata, ma per quello c'è Swift 7, qui si va dritti al sodo e con un design apprezzabile e moderno. Mi spiace solo che non possa portarlo con me al CES 2017 di Las Vegas dei prossimi giorni, mi avrebbe fatto comodo un display più ampio e maggiore capacità di elaborazione grafica.

The Swift 5 has almost none of the drawbacks a standard ultrabook would have. The build quality is good, the choice of materials give it a bit of a premium feel while the overall portability of the chassis is excellent. The input devices are a mixed bag for us, though, because the keyboard is slightly mushy and has short key travel. At least the touchpad compensates for the lacking keyboard.

The Acer Swift 5 is one of the only laptops in India with a 14-inch display that weighs under 1kg, which makes it a bit special. At around this price, you can also find other Ultrabooks such as the Dell XPS 13 9360, Lenovo Ideapad 720 Slim, or even the Asus ZenBook UX430UA - all of which share similar specifications but weigh a bit more than 1kg. If weight is an important factor in your buying decision, it will be really hard to beat the Swift 5. Keep in mind that battery life isn't great, so it won’t be easy to get through a full workday on a single charge unless you use this laptop very conservatively. The trackpad is a bit fiddly too, and there’s no SD card slot.

Acer Swift 5 si fa amare facilmente, e dopo averlo provato è difficile non volerne uno. Si tratta di un ultrabook leggero solo nel peso, ma "di peso" in tutto il resto. Lo userete ovunque: in ufficio, in viaggio, a casa. È così immediato che potrete dimenticarvi del vostro tablet, ed a volte anche dello smartphone. Veloce e dotato di tutti i comfort, dallo sblocco con le impronte digitali allo schermo touch. L'unico desiderio che avrete è che non si spenga mai, ma per fortuna l'alimentatore è anch'esso una piuma.

In definitiva, sono rimasto molto soddisfatto dallo Swift 5 Pro. Questo notebook è stato il mio compagno di lavoro in questo inizio d’estate offrendomi la possibilità di lavorare tranquillamente in mobilità, sfruttando al massimo tutte le sue caratteristiche, e mi ha permesso di svagarmi in serata grazie ad un comparto multimediale di tutto rispetto.

Honestly the only aspect of the Nitro 5 that gives me pause is longevity. Look at that Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark again: The GTX 1650 struggles with a four-year-old game. You’re definitely not going to max out most of 2019’s biggest releases, and it’s only going to get worse from here. On the other hand, it’s about $800. Would I recommend saving up an extra $150 to $200 for Acer’s beefier Predator Helios 300, reviewed in July? Yes, absolutely. But if you simply can’t, or if you plan to buy a cheaper laptop and upgrade more often, then the Nitro 5 is a respectable entry-level machine. The build quality far surpasses what I’d expect from a laptop this cheap, and the internals are “good enough,” for what that’s worth.

There are several laptops and tablets lying around my apartment but I found myself grabbing the Swift 5 over the others. That's because the Swift 5's staggeringly lightweight chassis required little effort to carry around and I could reliably count on there being enough battery life remaining. I also really enjoyed watching content on the 14-inch, 1080p display, which is plenty vivid and blocks reflections.

There are several laptops and tablets lying around my apartment but I found myself grabbing the Swift 5 over the others. That's because the Swift 5's staggeringly lightweight chassis required little effort to carry around and I could reliably count on there being enough battery life remaining. I also really enjoyed watching content on the 14-inch, 1080p display, which is plenty vivid and blocks reflections.

Nonostante le limitate capacità di raffreddamento in un case sottile di soli 15 mm di spessore, lo Swift 5 Acer con l'ultima CPU Intel Tiger Lake sembra essere un gigantesco balzo in avanti rispetto al processore di decima generazione di Intel. Ancora più importante è il fatto che le prestazioni della GPU sembrano essere di tutt'altra categoria. I laptops con GPU dedicate entry-level dovranno prendere nota.
Nonostante le limitate capacità di raffreddamento in un case sottile di soli 15 mm di spessore, lo Swift 5 Acer con l'ultima CPU Intel Tiger Lake sembra essere un gigantesco balzo in avanti rispetto al processore di decima generazione di Intel. So these are a couple of things that I like about the Swift 5 so far. Compared with my current Swift 3 laptop, I would say that the former is a pretty big improvement especially for the Antimicrobial display which is also a touchscreen with Corning® Gorilla® Glass. Acer has banished all the significant gremlins from its previous generation Swift 5 machines and that makes the new machine a clear recommendation. The keyboard layout still presents some issues but you will probably get used to them in time. Otherwise, it is small, light, powerful and stylish, has ports aplenty and very solid battery life – and for the price, it’s pretty good value. It's not better than the new MacBook Air but it does offer Windows users an alternative for which no excuses need to be made.

Come già accennato sopra, Acer Swift 5 è un laptop che da soddisfazione nell’utilizzo. I nuovi processori Intel di 12 generazione sono più efficienti e rendono ogni operazione più rapida. Il design mi ha convinto, il suo peso è ottimale per la mobilità, la tastiera scrive bene e le molte porte a disposizione permettono di fare praticamente tutto senza adattatori. Da rivedere l’illuminazione della tastiera e il touchpad non all’altezza.

And at S$2,398, it’s also reasonably priced. One could make the case for the ASUS ZenBook 14 UX3402 and say that at S$1,899 it’s even more affordable. However, the ASUS doesn’t perform quite as well, runs noisier and warmer, and has a smaller 512GB SSD. It’s also chunkier and heavier. The ZenBook is great if you are on a tight budget, but the Swift 5's premium is well justified. Furthermore, Acer offers a more affordable variant that comes with a Core i5-1240P processor but still with 16GB of memory and 1TB SSD for S$2,198. Ultimately, however, both the Acer and ASUS are excellent notebooks that cater to slightly different users. That said, this is easily the best Swift 5 that Acer has made yet and one of the most bang for buck ultraportable notebooks you can buy.

Acer made a complete redesign of this laptop. From the grounds up. It has changed the appearance of the Swift 5, as well as the material it uses. By swapping magnesium for aluminum, the brand manages to cut costs, and make the building process faster and more precise thanks to the CNC technology. This results in a pretty strong chassis. However, the lid pops in a weird way when you try to twist it. On the bright side, there is a Full HD Web camera with a bunch of software enhancements. Acer Swift 5 (SF514-56T)’s WQXGA IPS display is touch-enabled and has a Corning Gorilla Glass cover with Antimicrobial treatment. In addition, it features comfortable viewing angles, a very high maximum brightness, and a very good contrast ratio. We measured a full sRGB color coverage and didn’t detect PWM use across the entire brightness range.

Acer Swift 5 (2022) review: A solid all-rounder

And at S$2,398, it’s also reasonably priced. One could make the case for the ASUS ZenBook 14 UX3402 and say that at S$1,899 it’s even more affordable. However, the ASUS doesn’t perform quite as well, runs noisier and warmer, and has a smaller 512GB SSD. It’s also chunkier and heavier. The ZenBook is great if you are on a tight budget, but the Swift 5's premium is well justified. Furthermore, Acer offers a more affordable variant that comes with a Core i5-1240P processor but still with 16GB of memory and 1TB SSD for S$2,198. Ultimately, however, both the Acer and ASUS are excellent notebooks that cater to slightly different users. That said, this is easily the best Swift 5 that Acer has made yet and one of the most bang for buck ultraportable notebooks you can buy.

Acer: Nel 1976, l'azienda è stata fondata a Taiwan con il nome Multitech e nel 1987 è stata ribattezzata Acer o Acer Group.
