Dopo il 17 Ultra di febbraio, Xiaomi porta anche nella linea T le tecnologie fotografiche sviluppate insieme a Leica. Come fa le foto e le altre caratteristiche, a partire dalla maxi-batteria da 7.000 mAh. Arrivano anche i prodotti dell'ecosistema: Xiaomi 17T, Band 10 Pro, La serie «T» negli smartphone Xiaomi è sempre stata quella in grado di prendere le novità più significative della serie top, quella numerica (14, 15, 17 etc), e di portarle su un prezzo più abbordabile. E ancora una volta, con il 17T Pro che stiamo provando da qualche giorno è così: la novità più interessante di Xiaomi 17T Pro, più della batteria enorme o dell'ottimo display o dell'hardware potente, è il teleobiettivo. In una fascia in cui molti smartphone continuano a puntare sulla fotografia facendo leva su un bel sensore principale affiancato da due-tre comprimari dimenticabili, Xiaomi fa una scelta che ci sembra utile: porta un vero 5x firmato Leica anche sulla serie T.

Xiaomi 17T Pro si dimostra uno smartphone di grande sostanza, privo di concessioni a tendenze estetiche passeggere e focalizzato sulla massima efficienza d'uso e concretezza. Al netto di un'impronta fisica e di un peso importanti, ci troviamo di fronte a uno strumento da lavoro (e - perché no - da gioco) completo e affidabile, con potenza bruta da vendere e un display che non fa rimpiangere in alcun modo top di gamma ben più costosi.La scelta di implementare una batteria in silicio-carbonio da 7000mAh cancella qualsiasi preoccupazione legata alla durata della carica: è una caratteristica fondamentale a mio avviso per uno smartphone di fascia alta nel 2026. Questa componente, insomma, offre autonomie esclusive prima d'ora solo per la fascia media, ma per uno smartphone senza compromessi.L'esperienza fotografica guidata dal teleobiettivo periscopico e supportata dagli algoritmi RAW di Xiaomi AISP eleva il livello della produzione multimediale in mobilità, offrendo soluzioni concrete ed efficaci per la gestione dei ritratti e delle riprese anche in condizioni d'illuminazione critiche. Non è un camera phone nell'accezione più pura del termine, ma è uno smartphone completo per la fotografia, capace di sfornare scatti di qualità molto alta in tutte le situazioni. Il prezzo non è basso, ma c'è da considerare che questo Xiaomi 17T Pro può essere la scelta giusta per chi vuole l'esperienza tipica di un top di gamma ben al di sotto dei mille euro, accettando davvero pochissimi compromessi.

Le promozioni di lancio, come da tradizione, sono tantissime e variano in base ai diversi canali di vendita (Amazon, Mi.com, GDO e operatori telefonici). In molti casi è possibile portarsi a casa in omaggio una TV A Pro da 32" o un Redmi Pad da 9,7". Il pacchetto si arricchisce poi di sconti su Xiaomi Care (la polizza contro i danni accidentali) e di periodi di prova gratuiti per i servizi digitali. Troviamo ben tre mesi di Google AI Pro (con Gemini Pro e 5 TB di spazio su Google Drive) e l'abbonamento a Spotify Premium. Vale la pena spendere 150 euro in più per il Pro? Sì, se fai video seriamente sfruttando la modalità Cinema o il formato LOG in 4K a 60 fps, se desideri una batteria più grande con ricarica wireless (anche se lato autonomia abbiamo visto che le differenze reali sono minime), se ti serve il Wi-Fi 7 o se preferisci semplicemente i display più grandi.Anche la fotocamera principale, con il suo sensore più generoso, rappresenta un netto punto a favore del modello Pro.Le alternative “in casa”? C'è il più compatto Xiaomi 17 che, a un prezzo simile, offre dimensioni più contenute, lo Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 e una politica di aggiornamento magari più curata, trattandosi del vero flagship di linea. Il design in realtà è molto simile, anzi: a livello estetico io preferisco questi nuovi 17T.Restando in orbita Xiaomi, a un prezzo simile io preferirei il POCO F8 Ultra. Vanta l'esclusivo sistema di speaker “By BOSE” con subwoofer dedicato, lo stesso Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 e specifiche tecniche tutto sommato molto vicine a quelle della serie T.Fuori da Xiaomi, invece, ci sono i vari top competitor come OnePlus 15, Realme GT8 Pro o OPPO Find X9 Pro, senza dimenticare i classici Samsung Galaxy, iPhone e Pixel.Questi ultimi, lato pura scheda tecnica, non sono quasi mai all'altezzazza di questo Xiaomi, ma puntano su un software ricco di funzioni e allo stesso tempo “pulito”, privo di pubblicità o di quell'eccessivo bloatware che, come abbiamo visto, richiede ancora un po' di pulizia manuale da parte dell'utente.Lo Xiaomi 17T Pro è, a tutti gli effetti, un flagship camuffato.

Xiaomi 17T Pro è un ottimo smartphone top di gamma. Migliora la qualità costruttiva, si aggiorna l'hardware e la batteria guadagna un aggiornamento tale da farlo diventare un battery phone. Senza trascurare la velocità di ricarica (fulminea), il display o gli anni di aggiornamento software. Il prezzo è alto ed è purtroppo allineato al mercato di questa prima metà del 2026. Soffre un po' la concorrenza dei predecessori venduti a prezzi scontati, ma fra qualche mese e con qualche ribasso saprà tenere alta la bandiera di Xiaomi anche in questa fascia.

Xiaomi 17T Pro è uno smartphone che convince su molti fronti. Il design è riuscito ed elegante, il display è eccellente con un’attenzione reale alla salute degli occhi, le prestazioni sono ampiamente sufficienti per qualsiasi scenario d’uso, il teleobiettivo Leica è genuinamente il punto di forza più forte dell’intera proposta e la batteria da 7000 mAh cambia davvero il modo di vivere lo smartphone. I punti critici esistono e non vanno taciuti: il software non è ancora la versione rifinita che ci si aspetterebbe a questi prezzi, le notifiche pubblicitarie e il bloatware sono ancora presenti e fastidiosi, l’ultra-grandangolare da 12 MP è il punto debole fotografico che si trascina dalla generazione precedente senza miglioramenti. E 900 euro di listino sono tanti, in un mercato sempre più competitivo. Ma con le promozioni di lancio attive, con il bundle TV incluso e con tutti gli extra che abbassano di fatto il costo reale, il rapporto qualità-prezzo diventa decisamente più interessante. È uno smartphone che merita, con una consapevolezza chiara di cosa offre e cosa non offre. E se la batteria che non vi fa pensare alla ricarica per due giorni interi ha un valore per voi, e per molte persone ce l’ha, eccome, allora Xiaomi 17T Pro è una delle scelte solide che potete fare in questo segmento oggi.

Xiaomi 17T Pro Recensione: molto più di un semplice flagship killer

Xiaomi 17T Pro arriva sul mercato con un obiettivo ben preciso: scrollare di dosso alla linea il vecchio claim di “flagship killer”: Siamo di fronte a un dispositivo premium fatto e finito, che punta tutto su un’autonomia estremamente elevata e un display che ci ha stupito per qualità visiva e luminosità. La batteria al silicio-carbonio da 7000 mAh, incastonata in una scocca tanto sottile, è un vero e proprio miracolo ingegneristico che spazzerà via tutte le vostre preoccupazioni anche con un uso intenso lungo tutta la giornata. Il chipset MediaTek 9500 offre delle buone performance e, grazie al sistema di raffreddamento a circuito chiuso IceLoop, lo smartphone non va in difficoltà anche quando si usano applicazioni particolarmente impegnative. Lavora benissimo anche il sistema fotografico targato Leica, che restituisce dei ritratti eccezionali e scatti telemacro da 30cm di distanza con un bokeh naturale.

I'm not going to talk about the software too much; the 17T Pro comes with Android 16 out of the box, and it is optimized to run fluidly on the phone. I didn't see any lag or slowdowns, but the software itself is in need of a visual overhaul, and it doesn't feel quite as modern to use as OriginOS and ColorOS. It wasn't all that long ago that you could get a Xiaomi T series phone for around $500. But the industry as a whole is trending upwards in this area, and it isn't just Xiaomi that's selling its value flagships at what would've been flagships prices three years ago (the Xiaomi 13 debuted at €999 in 2023). So, where does that leave the 17T Pro? You're not getting huge gains from the 15T Pro, so if you're able to get last year's phone at a discounted price, that would be my recommendation — it has 90% of the same features. But if you aren't able to get the 15T Pro at a decent deal and need a bigger battery, the 17T Pro is a viable alternative. I still think it's better to wait a little while before buying the phone — Xiaomi will inevitably lower prices over the coming weeks, like it does with all devices in its portfolio. If you'd rather not wait, POCO's F8 Ultra is a solid choice as well — it has a better design, amazing cameras, the latest internals, and a 6,500mAh battery — and it costs a much more reasonable €659 right now.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is a great all-rounder. The cameras are excellent, it's powerful, it looks and feels premium, and it comes at a lower cost than most flagship devices. The only problem is that it's very similar to last year's 15T Pro. If you own the older model, there's not really any reason to upgrade, unless your battery keeps dying prematurely. And if you're a savvy shopper, opting for the older model, or the frequently discounted base model Xiaomi 17, might make more sense. That said, if you're looking for a phone in this price range, the Xiaomi 17T Pro still stands out as one of the best options. It has a more versatile camera system and better video features than its closest competitors, the Honor 600 Pro or Vivo X300 FE, and it rivals them in performance, too. So, while it might not be the most exciting update, the Xiaomi 17T Pro remains competitive in 2026. I had a great time using it, especially the 5x telephoto, which continues to surprise me with its excellent results.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro feels like an excellent alley that fumbled the oop. The hardware, despite only improving on last year in a couple of places, is strong across almost the entire board. The proverbial fumble here is completely tied to the price. The forces that are putting pressure on phone prices the world over are far out of Xiaomi’s control, so perhaps it’s a little unfair to lay the blame for this at its feet, but we aren’t here to feel sorry for multi-million pound companies. We’re here to decide if you should buy the Xiaomi 17T Pro, and the answer to that is probably not, no. If you really fancy it, save some cash and get the standard Xiaomi 17T – it’s barely a downgrade but costs quite a bit less. If you’re brand agnostic, I’ll say what I always say when we’re judging phones in this price range right now: you won’t find better value for money than with the OnePlus 15.

Here's how the Xiaomi 17T Pro coped with regular everyday use, as well as gaming and more intensive stuff. So, are you tempted by this smartphone? Personally I'd lean towards flagships like the OnePlus 15 and OPPO Find X9 series, while the Poco X8 Pro Max offers many of the same Xiaomi 17T Pro benefits at a nicer price.

I do wish Xiaomi had improved on the placement of the fingerprint sensor from the Xiaomi 15T Pro. It's still located too low at the bottom of the screen, which can be awkward to reach. And while the 17T has an Always-On Display, you can't actually leave it permanently on so it's not really always on, I guess. The 17 Pro can be configured to do so, but it doesn't appear to be an LTPO display that can drop down to 1Hz to conserve power, so Xiaomi doesn't enable it by default to save power.

Yes, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is a good smartphone buy, particularly if you want long battery life. The camera is ideal for social media, there’s plenty of performance for gaming, and it’s good to see wireless charging join fast wired charging. Xiaomi’s software can frustrate, the screen glass lets the display performance down, and there’s no denying this is a big, bulky phone.Does this all add up to a phone that was worth launching just eight months after the last one? It’s questionable. Xiaomi said it launched earlier than expected to show off Leica’s camera experience to more people, something that doesn’t really add up considering the 17T Pro’s camera is extremely similar to the 15T Pro’s. However, the Xiaomi 17T Pro’s long battery life does save it. It’s a genuine day-to-day game changer, and an answer to a lot of people’s problems with modern flagship phones. This is one of the best examples of the benefits a silicon-carbon battery and an efficient processor can bring to a phone.
