Scivolone sull'SSD. Se gli utlimi centimetri cubici di volume e qualche centinaio di grammi in più o in meno non sono importanti, allora il nuovo 13" sarà più che un utile compagno in quanto fonde potenza sufficiente con una buona autonomia ed ha le consuete funzioni di sicurezza. Tuttavia il prezzo contenuto impatta su alcuni punti critici.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Il Toshiba Portégé A30-D-139 ci ha lasciato sensazioni miste nonostante il punteggio finale molto buono. Questo dipende principalmente da piccoli problemi con il touchpad ed il sistea audio inaccettabile sul nostro dispositivo oltre all'SSD lento.

C'è tutto quello di cui avete bisogno per l'utilizzo in ufficio e per navigare. Diversamente dai concorrenti, nel test, il Portégé ha una porta docking e solo lo Huawei MateBook X offre features di sicurezza simili. Ma dovete considerare che il dispositivo testato è relativamente grande e pesante rispetto alla concorrenza. Tuttavia, il tester non ha mai rilevato questo aspetto come un problema. Non abbiamo lamentele per quanto riguarda il case abbastanza sobrio ma non costruito perfettamente.

Il dispositivo deve essere elogiato per la facilità nel rimuovere la batteria dall'esterno, per lo schermo complessivamente buono, e soprattutto per la silenziosità. Il fatto che il produttore non usi un processore i5 nel modello testato optando per un (comunque veloce) i3-7100U rende possibile avere tale silenziosità. Difficilmente lo si riesce a portare al limite, anche con lo stress test.

Possiamo dare una raccomandazione di acquisto parziale questa volta. Userete molto il touchpad? Peso e case compatto sono molto importanti? Il portatile sarà usato per ascoltare la musica? Avete bisogno di TB3 e/o DisplayPort? Coloro che hanno risposto si alla maggioranza delle domande devono guardare altrove. Tutti gli altri potrebbero trovarsi bene con il nuovo Portégé.
