Lenovo Yoga 7i 14-inch review: a capable 2-in-1 for casual users

The Lenovo Yoga 7i is an impressive machine, not just due to its 2-in-1 capabilities but also considering how portable it is, while still packing a punch in the processing department. The construction is firm and a bit rigid around the hinge but it posed no problems with the opening and closing of the lid. The Yoga 7i is as light as a 14-inch laptop can get and is backed up by a decent battery to see it through a day of usage. While my review unit is priced at Rs 99,990, the i5 version of the device carries a \ price tag of Rs 85,990. I think that the Yoga 7i is a compelling everyday machine with the right balance of performance, style, and portability and as such is on top of my recommendations list. You have the option to go with bulkier contenders like the Asus TUF F15 or the Dell G5 (review) for a better gaming experience or switch to the M1 MacBook Air… but if your work doesn’t involve a lot of graphics-related tasks and you want to take the Windows route, the Yoga 7i should suffice easily.

The 7i 16-inch looks and feels like a slightly larger version of Lenovo's flagship consumer 9i laptop. The 7i retains all the things that make the 9i a flagship while offering configuration options that are a bit more considerate of someone's budget, while keeping a baseline quality standard. Its redesign makes it feel fresh, while the feature package is beyond impressive. Lenovo has paired it with a quad-stereo speaker setup and provides you with not one, but two biometric authentication sensors – a fingerprint reader, and an IR face recognition scanner. Furthermore, the latter is working in conjunction with a 1080p Web camera, which is an improvement by itself. Add a privacy shutter to the mix, and you end up with a rather secure and private little machine. Lenovo Yoga 7i (14″, 2022)’s 2.2K IPS panel has comfortable viewing angles and a very high contrast ratio. It covers 97% of the sRGB color gamut, which is pretty wide and results in a rather vibrant color output. Furthermore, it doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. What is equally important for creators and designers is that the color accuracy is right within the sRGB standard.

I'm not going to drag-race this mid-range laptop basically ever, and the heaviest workload it's going to see is Photoshop, but on the odd chance I do open up Premiere Pro, choose to compile some code locally, or play the odd game, I don't want to be reminded that I bought a laptop that had a poorly refreshed architecture.

Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.

Core Ultra 7 258V: Un processore di fascia media superiore della famiglia Lunar Lake.
