EN→ITAt this point in time, this laptop is still at RM2,999. I think this laptop is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop.

EN→ITAt RM2,999 – the ASUS Vivobook 16X certainly does not ask a lot of money for good amounts of CPU performance, but some corners are cut so you should not ask too much out of it. I’d say the best use case would fall under office work – those who do mostly typing and data entry that needs a bigger screen will benefit a lot from this machine with a relatively low price point. If you need a better content watching experience though, go for the Vivobook 15X OLED instead.

EN→ITWhen you want a laptop that has the performance of a big gaming machine, you need to make sacrifices. Especially if you want it to be affordable. Well, this is exactly the case with the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Its IPS panel has a WUXGA resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, but on the other hand, the color coverage is only 50% of the sRGB color gamut. Although the laptop is made out of plastic, it has one strong feature when it comes to the body – its coating. ASUS has covered all body panels with an antimicrobial layer, which attracts all microbes and then kills them off. Quite sadistic, but also beneficial. In addition to that, the port selection is robbed of an SD card reader, while the USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfers. Also, some of the memory (8GB to be precise) has been soldered to the motherboard. Further expansions are possible via the single SODIMM slot. In terms of battery, you get between 8 and 10 hours on a single charge, depending on your activities – watching videos, or browsing the Web. Using more demanding software, however, will drain it significantly more quickly, due to the power-hungry processor. Speaking of which, it is really powerful. Even though it is a couple of generations old, one can still reap the benefits of AMD’s bold design back in the day. So, if you are looking for a machine that is capable of delivering all you need, at a low price, and still allows you to play light games – get the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Don’t miss to check out the OLED version of this device.

The Vivobook 16 (X1605) is a pretty decent machine with only a few minor flaws that can’t be ignored, but at the same time won’t be dealbreakers for the majority of you. This includes the lack of an SD card reader and the fact that the only USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfer. On the bright side, the situation on the inside looks a bit better with one SODIMM slot for memory expansion and one M.2 PCIe x4 slot for Gen 3 or Gen 4 SSDs. The battery life is great if you’re browsing the Web – 10 hours and 30 minutes, but it is not fantastic if you are watching videos – 5 hours and 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we are not aware what is the reason for the huge difference. Not in last place, its Antibacterial Guard limits the growth and build-up of bacteria on the plastic surface of the notebook. This feature is tested against the ISO 22196 standard, according to ASUS. Now, if you are willing to get a laptop at this price point, you might need to settle for plastic as a building material.

For $300 more, the Acer Swift Edge offers a 16-inch, 16:10 OLED display inside a slim yet rigid magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis. It also regularly goes on sale at Costco for less than $1,000. Or if you don't mind a smaller display, consider the HP Pavilion Plus 14, which comes in many configurations at more affordable prices.

However, that display isn’t especially vibrant or accurate, which robs the laptop of some of its multimedia potential. What’s more, a puny battery, just the one USB-C port, and a rather cheap-feeling finish saps a fair amount of that initial full-sized laptop pizazz. Heavy discounting means that anyone specifically in the market for the largest laptop screen possible at the lowest price possible will definitely want to include the Vivobook 16 in their calculations. For the vast majority of people, however, you can get a better-balanced laptop package elsewhere.

It won’t buckle under the virtual weight of too much admin work. This laptop does start at £600 for the Intel Core i5 version, and it might be a worthy compromise for those looking for straightforward productivity use. With lacklustre speakers and a hinge that stops short of helping it become a good entertainment companion, however, there are just a few too many compromises here to truly recommend it at this price point. The 16GB RAM is this model’s biggest strength in terms of raw power but competing devices are hard to ignore with the HP Pavilion SE 14 providing a more modern processor for less money as well as a better speaker system.

However, if you look back at ASUS’s other older laptops – like the ASUS Vivobook M1503, then you’ll get a much better OLED screen at around the same price, and you get a much more powerful CPU too – but less RAM and a slightly smaller screen.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.

Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

Intel Alder Lake-P:
