EN→ITAt this point in time, this laptop is still at RM2,999. I think this laptop is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop.

EN→ITAt RM2,999 – the ASUS Vivobook 16X certainly does not ask a lot of money for good amounts of CPU performance, but some corners are cut so you should not ask too much out of it. I’d say the best use case would fall under office work – those who do mostly typing and data entry that needs a bigger screen will benefit a lot from this machine with a relatively low price point. If you need a better content watching experience though, go for the Vivobook 15X OLED instead.

EN→ITWhen you want a laptop that has the performance of a big gaming machine, you need to make sacrifices. Especially if you want it to be affordable. Well, this is exactly the case with the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Its IPS panel has a WUXGA resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, but on the other hand, the color coverage is only 50% of the sRGB color gamut. Although the laptop is made out of plastic, it has one strong feature when it comes to the body – its coating. ASUS has covered all body panels with an antimicrobial layer, which attracts all microbes and then kills them off. Quite sadistic, but also beneficial. In addition to that, the port selection is robbed of an SD card reader, while the USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfers. Also, some of the memory (8GB to be precise) has been soldered to the motherboard. Further expansions are possible via the single SODIMM slot. In terms of battery, you get between 8 and 10 hours on a single charge, depending on your activities – watching videos, or browsing the Web. Using more demanding software, however, will drain it significantly more quickly, due to the power-hungry processor. Speaking of which, it is really powerful. Even though it is a couple of generations old, one can still reap the benefits of AMD’s bold design back in the day. So, if you are looking for a machine that is capable of delivering all you need, at a low price, and still allows you to play light games – get the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Don’t miss to check out the OLED version of this device.

The Vivobook 16 (X1605) is a pretty decent machine with only a few minor flaws that can’t be ignored, but at the same time won’t be dealbreakers for the majority of you. This includes the lack of an SD card reader and the fact that the only USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfer. On the bright side, the situation on the inside looks a bit better with one SODIMM slot for memory expansion and one M.2 PCIe x4 slot for Gen 3 or Gen 4 SSDs. The battery life is great if you’re browsing the Web – 10 hours and 30 minutes, but it is not fantastic if you are watching videos – 5 hours and 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we are not aware what is the reason for the huge difference. Not in last place, its Antibacterial Guard limits the growth and build-up of bacteria on the plastic surface of the notebook. This feature is tested against the ISO 22196 standard, according to ASUS. Now, if you are willing to get a laptop at this price point, you might need to settle for plastic as a building material.

Or if you don't mind a smaller display, consider the HP Pavilion Plus 14, which comes in many configurations at more affordable prices.

It won’t buckle under the virtual weight of too much admin work. This laptop does start at £600 for the Intel Core i5 version, and it might be a worthy compromise for those looking for straightforward productivity use. With lacklustre speakers and a hinge that stops short of helping it become a good entertainment companion, however, there are just a few too many compromises here to truly recommend it at this price point. The 16GB RAM is this model’s biggest strength in terms of raw power but competing devices are hard to ignore with the HP Pavilion SE 14 providing a more modern processor for less money as well as a better speaker system.

When you add the 1200p display in the mix, this results in more than 16 hours of Web browsing on a single charge. Not bad for a 42Wh battery! Of course, if you get a laptop with a Zen 4 processor and a 3.2K OLED display, perhaps the battery life could be shorter. This machine is offered with a plethora of processor options. This allows you to pick the right chip for your needs. For casual office or home usage, even the 6-core Ryzen 5 5625U should be fine, if you aren’t too pretentious. It’s not a bad idea to choose a machine with dual-channel memory that will boost the overall performance. On the other side, this notebook can be transformed into a productivity beast with an 8-core Zen 4 CPU like the Ryzen 9 7940HS.

EN→ITThe ASUS Vivobook 16X OLED (K3604) has a lot of potential to be a true blockbuster in its class but the device isn’t perfect. Let’s start with the positives – the 16:10 4K (3840 x 2400p) OLED display (Samsung AMOLED ATNA60YV02-0 (SDC415D) is just great. It boasts 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage alongside good out-of-the-box color accuracy. The HDR panel amazes with quick pixel response times and infinite contrast ratio. The display flicker here isn’t an issue since there is a ”Flicker-Free Dimming” function in the MyASUS software. The overall performance of the laptop is good. The machine feels snappy – our laptop is configured with the Core i7-1360P which is the top CPU option for the series. This chip is a serious challenge for the basic-looking cooling solution. Interestingly, the CPU can maintain decently high frequencies in prolonged periods of 100% stress while the clocks in short loads are so-so.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.

Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia media basata sull'architettura Turing con funzioni di raytracing e 2.048 shader (più di una RTX 2060) ma solo un piccolo bus di memoria a 64 bit.
Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

Intel Alder Lake-P:
i3-1220P: Una CPU di fascia medio-bassa della famiglia Alder Lake da 28 W con 2 core ad alte prestazioni e 8 core efficienti insieme alla GPU UHD Graphics da 64 EU, una Iris Xe in tutto e per tutto. Il Core i3-1220P funziona da 1,1 GHz a 4,4 GHz. Questo SoC è stato progettato per essere utilizzato nei computer portatili ultraleggeri e ultrasottili (ma con raffreddamento passivo). I core ad alte prestazioni dell'i3 sono dotati dell'importantissima tecnologia Hyper-Threading di raddoppio dei thread, per un totale di 12 thread.
i7-12650H:
CPU mobile basata su Alder Lake con 6 core di prestazioni e 4 core di efficienza. I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper threading, che porta a 16 thread elaborabili. Il processore funziona a frequenze comprese tra 1,7 e 4,7 GHz e supporta vPro.
AMD Rembrandt (Zen 3+):
R7 6800H:
APU mobile Octa-Core con core Zen 3+ con clock da 3,2 a 4,7 GHz e adattatore grafico RDNA2 con 12 CU con clock fino a 2.200 MHz.

Intel Raptor Lake-H:
i9-13900H: CPU mobile basata su Alder Lake con 6 core ad alte prestazioni e 8 core efficienti. I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper threading, che porta a 20 thread che possono essere elaborati. La CPU ha un clock fino a 5,4 GHz. Rispetto all'i9-13900HK, non è supportato l'overclocking facile, ma è invece supportato il set completo di funzioni di gestione vPro.
Intel Raptor Lake-U:
i5-1335U: CPU mobile basata su Alder Lake con 2 core ad alte prestazioni e 8 core efficienti. I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper threading, che porta a 12 thread che possono essere elaborati. Il clock della CPU va da 0,9 a 4,6 GHz. Il TDP è specificato a 15 Watt.
Intel Raptor Lake-P:
i7-1360P: CPU basata su Raptor Lake-P con un TDP di 28 Watt. Offre 4 core di prestazioni e 8 core di efficienza e quindi 16 thread.
