Un refresh familiare. Il passaggio dall'Y50 all'Y700 da 15.6" comporta qualche importante upgrade, ma ci sono ancora delle falle evidenti in termini di features ad accessibilità che non sono state ancora colmate.

Lenovo chiama la sua serie Y700 la soluzione gaming entry-level che raddoppia come esperienza multimedia. Giudicando questa espressione, il refresh è un successo in quanto gli elementi essenziali sono eccellenti. La qualità del display è molto buona con tempi di risposta rapidi, qualità di costruzione migliorata rispetto alla precedente generazione, ed assenza di throttling durante il gaming. L'autonomia della batteria è molto buona con l'abilitazione di Optimus ed i due storage bays sono più pratici rispetto al suo predecessore come gaming machine.

I punti debili di questo 15.6" Y700 si notano dopo aver speso un po' di tempo con questo portatile. I problemi sono nei dettagli in quanto la riproduzione del color è solo nella media e non c'è una USB Type-C per il futuro. I problemi peggiorano per gli utenti che optano per una lower-end SKU che avrà una GTX 960M con VRAM dimezzata. L'assenza di NVMe, mDP, e tasti Macro dedicati distanzia la serie Y700 da modelli come G752 o GT72S.

I gamers che hanno un budget limitato di circa $1000 USD potrebbero considerare questo 15.6" Y700 in quanto uno dei sistemi meno costosi con una GTX 960M oltre all'Acer Aspire V15 Nitro. Raccomandiamo di non scegliere opzioni UHD e touchscreen in favore di una SKU con HDD secondario ed una GTX 960M con 4 GB di VRAM.
