Pur non portando particolari innovazioni, e al netto di un aspetto tozzo e non particolarmente attraente, OUKITEL WP9 è il classico smartphone che punta alla sostanza più che all’apparenza. Solido in ogni senso, sufficientemente performante pur con qualche rallentamento, è la soluzione ideale per chi vuole uno smartphone in grado di durare per qualche anno, senza spendere cifre impegnative. Peccato solo per la presenza di Android 10 che difficilmente sarà aggiornato, così come delle patch di sicurezza vecchie di parecchi mesi. OUKITEL WP9 sarà in vendita dal 2 giugno al prezzo di 159,99 dollari, circa 132 euro, valido solo fino al 9 giugno e può essere acquistato seguendo questo link. It is not difficult to recommend the Oukitel WP9 over its other rivals at this price especially if you need/care about the oversized battery. The hardware that powers it offers good performance at times but perplexing numbers at others, which points to an unbalanced specification sheet. As such, expect Oukitel to slash the price of the WP9 sooner rather than later especially as Amazon Prime Day looms. Other than the pricing conundrum, the WP9 needs to have Android 11 to be taken seriously. Will it come in a future update? We wouldn’t count on it given the poor historical record of Chinese rugged smartphone vendors in general when it comes to firmware.

As with all rugged phones, this has a very specific use case. It is very good at completing tasks where you would be outside, on a building site or in an otherwise dirty or dangerous environment. Dropping it in such areas, assuming you don't lose it in the process, will likely result in absolutely no damage to the device, although I do wonder how the polycarbonate backplate will hold up after prolonged use and exposure to rough environments, but there's also a TPU case included if owners are worried about damaging or scratching the camouflage print.. As I have said in previous rugged phone reviews, you can probably forget about using it as a main phone and sticking it in your Bermuda shorts or pant pockets. If you do, however, the ever-present risk of being pantsied by your own phone will haunt you. This is true even for a big guy like myself, it is proper heavy at 328 g. In fact I opted to keep it in my backpack when I was out shooting pictures with it.

But alongside the headline features, Oukitel always likes to put something unusual in its phones, and in this design, the back of the phone has a small 1.8-inch display that can display a clock. That it didn’t have a way to show notifications is mildly disappointing, but some of the clock options are very impressive. For the $399 that Oukitel is asking for, the WP30 Pro is an imposing device that combines full IP68/69 water and dust-resistant experience, good cameras, and a great battery life. It might have been even lighter, and a few features feel like gimmicks, but its underlying technology is excellent

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

ARM Mali-T880 MP2:

Soluzione grafica mobile per tablet e smartphone, che si può trovare nei SoC ARM (per la maggior parte dei dispositivi basati su Android). La Mali-T880 può essere costruita da 1 a 16 cluster, dove la versione MP2 presenta 2 cluster/cores.

Imagination PowerVR GM9446:

Scheda grafica di classe media per smartphone integrata nei SoC ARM. Supporta OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.1, OpenCL 1.2 e Android NN HAL. Le prestazioni dovrebbero essere leggermente migliori di una Adreno 430.

Scheda grafica integrata basata sull'architettura Valhall. Utilizza 9 dei 16 cluster possibili e secondo ARM offre il 30% di prestazioni migliori al 30% di efficienza in più rispetto ad un Mali-G76.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

Scheda grafica integrata di gamma media con 2 cluster. Basata sull'architettura Valhall.

ARM Mali-G57 MP1:

Scheda grafica integrata di gamma media con 1 cluster. Basata sull'architettura Valhall.

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Helio G95:

SoC octa-core basato su ARM con 2x grandi core ARM Cortex-A76 e 6x core ARM Cortex-A55 piccoli e ad alta efficienza energetica. Tutti con clock fino a 2,05 GHz. Integra un modem LTE Cat-12 (4G) e una scheda grafica ARM Mali-G76 con clock a 900 MHz (+100 MHz rispetto all'identico G90T).

Helio G99:

SoC octa-core basato su ARM con 2 core ARM Cortex-A76 di grandi dimensioni e 6 core ARM Cortex-A55 di piccole dimensioni, ad alta efficienza energetica. Il tutto con un clock di 2,2 GHz. Ha un modem LTE Cat-13 (4G) integrato e una scheda grafica ARM Mali-G57 MP2. Rispetto al precedente Helio G96, il G99 è prodotto con il più recente processo a 6 nm e ha frequenze più elevate.

Helio P35 MT6765: ARM based octa core SoC (8x ARM Cortex-A53) con clock fino a 2,3 GHz. Il chip include anche un modem LTE Cat.7 (300 Mbps download).

Il Dimensity 800 è un SoC veloce di fascia media con un modem 5G integrato. Comprende quattro core ARM Cortex-A76 veloci fino a 2 GHz e quattro core Cortex-A55 efficienti fino a 2 GHz.

Dimensity 700:

Il Dimensity 700 è un veloce SoC di fascia media con un modem 5G integrato. Include due core ARM Cortex-A76 veloci fino a 2,2 GHz e sei core Cortex-A55 ad alta efficienza energetica fino a 2 GHz.

Dimensity 8050: Dimensity 8100 è un processore di fascia media con modem 5G integrato. La CPU integra quattro core ARM Cortex-A78 veloci fino a 2,85 GHz e quattro core Cortex-A55 efficienti fino a 2 GHz.

Dimensity 6100+: Dimensity 6100 Plus è un SoC di fascia media inferiore con modem 5G integrato. Include due core ARM Cortex-A76 veloci fino a 2,2 GHz e sei core Cortex-A55 ad alta efficienza energetica fino a 2 GHz. Le specifiche sono simili al vecchio SoC Dimensity 700 e quasi identiche al 6020.
