Vendere un notebook al prezzo di un mini PC, per non dire di uno smartphone di fascia bassa, non è da tutti, e l'azienda cinese ci riesce anche più che bene. Ci sono tanti limiti in questa macchina, ma proprio certi limiti, a questo prezzo, potrebbero renderla l'impiego ideale per diversi tipi di utente. E da oggi anche voi potrete chiedervi se comprare un MacBook Pro nuovo (senza Touch Bar), o 10 Chuwi LapBook (per tutta la famiglia, e anche di più).

As it is, we can only recommend the Chuwi LapBook if you're willing to take a flyer and wouldn't be terribly put out if your $250 laptop suddenly had to be shipped a long ways, for a long while, for replacement or repair. If this would be your only computer to rely on, we'd be way more inclined to recommend shopping for a budget model, likely with a smaller screen, from a domestic e-tailer or a local retail shop. It's a lot easier to schlep a wonky laptop back to your local Best Buy or back to Amazon.com or Newegg.com than to ship it back across the Pacific.

Overall, this is a pretty decent unit but does have some drawbacks. If you're going to be using this at home or with an external mouse, it might be the perfect option, but for me, I think when you start creeping up towards the $400 price range, there are better and more reliable options from big name brands. Sure, the other options from the likes of Dell, Toshiba, and others aren't as svelte compared to the LapBook Air, but they are certainly more powerful, probably more reliable out of the box, and when something does go wrong, you'll probably have an easier time trying to get it fixed. This was again a good attempt by Chuwi, but it will need to step things up and take things a step further to make this a product that I could fully recommend.

Chuwi is proving itself to be different, and (trackpad woes aside) the new Lapbook is a pretty fantastic example of that. If you’re looking for a full-fledged Windows 10 notebook to carry out basic to intermediate tasks and don’t want to wreck your wallet, it’s a solid option. The LapBook 14.1 retails for around $299, though you can find it for as cheap as $239. Insomma questo chuwi lapbook air è un laptop bello, piacevole da utilizzare per scrittura, blogging, internet, audio video ma che poi viene limitato negli usi più impegnativi. Avrete un computer che somiglia a un ultrabook, se cercate un design così e che sia anche performante dobbiamo rivolgerci a prodotti dal prezzo di gran lunga superiore ai 1000 euro, quindi il prezzo che sui principali siti cinesi è intorno ai 350 euro mentre su amazon è di 429 euro, potrebbe allettare qualcuno che vuole delle dimensioni e una portabilità di questo tipo ma a cui non servono performance e potenza di calcolo di macchine più costose; tuttavia secondo me è ancora forse un po troppo alto… aggiungendo 100-150 euro si riescono a prendere in italia computer con I5 o I7 che sono mille volte meglio in termini di utilizzo di questo, senza contare il discorso garanzia che va sempre ricordato in prodotti con questi prezzi.

Chuwi has proven it can make a solid notebook. The LapBook Plus is a budget laptop with premium construction and with plenty of ports and a 4K display, which you rarely see in a sub-$500 laptop. Chuwi:
Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.
Intel HD Graphics (Cherry Trail):
La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
Intel HD Graphics 500:

Frugale SoC quad-core della serie Apollo Lake per notebook economici. Gira con clocks tra 1.1-2.2 GHz ed integra un adattatore grafico che usa DirectX 12. Rispetto alla precedente generazione Atom, le performance per-MHz dell'architettura CPU sono state nettamente migliorate così come è migliorato l'adattatore grafico.
Intel Gemini Lake:
Celeron N4100:
SoC quad-core a bassa potenza della serie Gemini Lake per notebook economici. Funziona con clocks tra 1,1-2,4 GHz e integra un adattatore grafico compatibile con DirectX 12.
Intel Atom:
La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
