Il POCO M8 Pro 5G è lo smartphone che fa riflettere su cosa stiamo realmente pagando quando compriamo un telefono. È praticamente lo stesso dispositivo del Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus, stesso display, stessa batteria, stesso processore, stessa autonomia mostruosa, ma costa 200 euro in meno. La differenza principale è la fotocamera da 50MP invece di 200MP, ma come abbiamo mostrato, quella “riduzione” sulla carta si traduce spesso in risultati migliori nella pratica. Ci sono difetti? Certo. L’assenza dell’eSIM nel 2026 è difficile da giustificare. Le UFS 2.2 sono una scelta datata. Il bloatware è fastidioso e richiede pulizia manuale. L’always-on che dura 10 secondi è ridicolo.

Non posso approfondire troppo il discorso ricezione poiché, mancando il supporto eSIM, non ho potuto inserire la mia SIM personale (ormai virtuale da mesi) e l'ho utilizzato principalmente come secondo device. Tuttavia, l'ho messo alla prova con un adattatore eSIM fisico per qualche giorno in mobilità, abbinato a piani dati come Saily o Holafly, e si è comportato bene. La ricezione è sembrata ottima, così come la qualità dei microfoni in chiamata. Una nota positiva: anche nelle app di terze parti come WhatsApp è possibile attivare un'ulteriore cancellazione del rumore. Gli speaker, come anticipato in apertura, sono simmetrici (nello specifico monta due altoparlanti 1115F, proprio come sul POCO F8 Pro). La funzione "extra" che spinge il volume al 400%, invece, è un po' fuffa.Il feedback della vibrazione è buono e ben integrato nel sistema.

Marginally better 4x photos that still can’t compete with more capable mid-range phones don’t justify the premium. With styling, screen, software battery life and power otherwise being so similar, the Poco just makes more sense if you’re shopping to a budget. Marginally better 4x photos that still can’t compete with more capable mid-range phones don’t justify the premium. With styling, screen, software battery life and power otherwise being so similar, the Poco just makes more sense if you’re shopping to a budget. It also comfortably outlasts the Samsung Galaxy A56 and Nothing Phone 3a, though it lacks the former’s software finesse and the latter’s distinctive styling.

The POCO M8 Pro could be an early contender for best budget smartphone of 2026. But how does it compare vs the M8 and is it worth the upgrade? The POCO M8 Pro camera setup sports a large Light Fusion sensor, for upgraded low light photography, as well as an ultra-wide shooter if you want an alternative view. The phone offers a solid and durable build, a well-specced OLED display, impressive battery life, and very fast charging. The stereo speakers are notably loud, while chipet performance is adequate for the class, even if it does not stand out.
