Le critiche sulla potenza bruta passano un po’ in secondo piano, anche perché spesso chi offre di più lato hardware finisce per essere carente sul software. Nothing sta puntando tutto sull’esperienza utente, e non è affatto una scelta sbagliata. Ottimizzare il software ha costi invisibili importanti, ma una volta costruita una base solida, l’hardware può sempre essere aggiornato. Il contrario, invece, raramente porta a un vero progresso.Rimane però una scelta difficilmente difendibile: l’assenza della eSIM sul modello base. Parliamo ormai di uno standard nel mondo smartphone e non dovrebbe essere un elemento di distinzione per spingere verso la variante Pro.

Recensione Nothing Phone 4(a): sempre iconico ma ora più concreto

Il listino prezzi ufficiale posiziona Phone 4(a) in una zona del mercato molto combattuta, ma l'originalità della proposta lo aiuta a distinguersi facilmente dalla massa di dispositivi tutti uguali tra loro. La versione con 8 GB di RAM e 128 GB di storage viene proposta a un prezzo di 349 euro, mentre per la variante top con 12 GB di RAM e 256 GB di memoria interna sono necessari 449 euro. C'è anche una versione intermedia da 8/256GB a 409 euro. Ci sono ben 4 colorazioni, bianco, nero, blu e rosa. Phone 4(a) sarà disponibile a partire da 13 marzo, ma i preordini sono già aperti di qualche giorno. Si tratta di cifre sicuramente coerenti con quanto offerto, con un aumento di 20 euro al lancio rispetto al predecessore. Pero i miglioramenti ci sono stati, un po' in tutti i settori, Quindi, ci sta. Il bilancio finale è quindi positivo. Chi cerca uno smartphone che sia innanzitutto affidabile, fluido nell'uso quotidiano e capace di distinguersi per un’estetica ricercata troverà in Nothing Phone 4(a) una risposta concreta.

Nothing Phone (4a) viene venduto a 389 € per la versione 8/256 GB e 429 € per quella da 12/256 GB. Analizzando il pacchetto complessivo, è chiaro che l’azienda ha fatto delle scelte precise. Ha rinunciato alla ricarica wireless e alla eSIM globale per poter investire su un display di alto livello e su un sistema di fotocamere che include un’ottica periscopica, caratteristica quasi introvabile su queste cifre. Non è un telefono perfetto — la ricarica non è la più veloce del settore e la ultra-wide è solo sufficiente — ma è un dispositivo che offre un’esperienza utente coerente, fluida e supportata per molti anni. Per chi cerca uno smartphone che non sia il solito “mattoncino” anonimo e che offra strumenti software realmente pensati per l’utente, il Phone (4a) è una delle opzioni più solide e razionali del momento.

Alla fine di questa prova, Nothing Phone (4a) ci ha lasciato una sensazione positiva. Nothing Phone (4a) è uno smartphone piacevole da utilizzare nel quotidiano. Al netto di qualche limitazione sul fronte del gaming, infatti, la proposta è solida e supportata da un ottimo display AMOLED a 120Hz. Interessante anche il comparto fotografico, che beneficia di un nuovo teleobiettivo, così come la nuova Glyph Bar, per chi apprezza questo tipo di design. Phone (4a) riprende molto dal predecessore, continuando anche nel 2026 ad avere limitazioni in termini di batteria (niente silicio-carbonio) e supporto software (3 anni di major release). Per quanto il fattore wow del design stia ormai un po' svanendo, rappresenta tuttavia una soluzione solida, considerando anche che il 2026, complice la crisi delle memorie, non è propriamente il migliore degli anni per gli smartphone: è in questo contesto che si inserisce il prezzo di 449 euro per il nostro modello da 12/256GB (contro i 399 euro dello stesso taglio del predecessore).

This could easily be a strong contender for best cheap phone. There are still plenty of things we don't know about, and that's going to require plenty of hands-on testing. So where does the Nothing Phone 4a stand? Yes, the price has increased to Rs 31,999, but that is an industry wide trend. Thanks to the rising memory prices, delivering the same value as last year is quite tough now. The Phone 4a is a decent package. The performance may not be the best, but the device holds up well with most tasks, the display is punchy too, even if the bezels are not the slimmest. The camera setup is quite versatile, and we don’t really see a periscope telephoto on other phones in this price range. And of course, the design and Glyph Bar is what makes the device stand out.However, the battery is smaller than rival phones, while battery life is not bad, it is not close to the best out there. And on the durability front, we would’ve appreciated a higher IP rating. Overall, though, the Nothing Phone 4a delivers on what it promises. For anyone who wants to stand out without making any real compromises, the device does the job quite well.
