Il nuovo Yoga 900 è meglio dello Yoga 3 Pro? La risposta è un "sì" convinto, anche se non è il dispositivo perfetto che produttore vorrebbe far credere. Il convertibile è leggermente più spesso e pesante e il contrasto del display non è stato migliorato. L'autonomia della batteria non è niente di speciale per la sua classe e le scarse dimensioni del touchpad e dei tasti freccia richiedono un po' di tempo per l'abitudine. La mancanza di un'uscita video dedicata non farà contenti gli utenti che contano molto su un monitor esterno. Inoltre, il throttling della CPU che colpiva lo Yoga 3 Pro si è fatto strada fino allo Yoga 900, a dispetto delle apparentemente soluzioni migliorate per il raffreddamento.

Ma anche con questi difetti, lo Yoga 900 è un notebook eccezionale che conferma la posizione di Lenovo alla vetta della categoria dei convertibili non staccabili. I modelli della concorrenza con cerniere a 360 gradi come lo Spectre 13 x360 offrono più opzioni di connettività con le stesse dimensioni, ma sono molto più pesanti e la modalità tablet è quindi scomoda.

Se si trova la modalità notebook e tablet di uguale interesse, lo Yoga 900 è un ottimo acquisto. Altrimenti, ultrabook come Kirabook o Zenbook UX305 offrono una più ampia autonomia della batteria e un contrasto più elevato. Se la modalità tablet è più richiesta, allora il Surface Pro 4 con Type Cover è la miglior alternativa

Lo Yoga 900 è un piccolo passo nella giusta direzione rispetto allo Yoga 3 Pro. Il suo design leggeto e sottile lo rende uno dei migliori convertibili sul mercato. Però, si tratta di un sistema con prestazioni e opzioni di connettività inferiori rispetto a un ultrabook dedicato.
