Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

E' piuttosto ovvio quale sia l'audience a cui punta l'Asus ZenBook UX530UX: le persone che vogliono essere mobile, ma non vogliono rinunciare ad un display da 15" e possono spendere. Il nuovo ZenBook è piccolo, leggero, elegante e di alta qualità. Ha un buon display e di solito resta piacevolmente fresco e relativamente silenzioso.

Chiunque non dà molta importanza a peso e mobilità farebbe meglio a guardare altri dispositivi. Da un punto di vista delle performance, lo ZenBook non genererà entusiasmo in quanto c'è un evidente  throttling. L'SSD è di fascia media e l'uso sola di porte  USB 2.0 non è una cosa attuale. I competitors con prestazioni simili o migliori sono disponibili per prezzi nettamente più bassi. Ad esempio, il Lenovo Thinkpad E570, che è più grande e pesante ma ha prestazioni analoghe, costa almeno 500 euro in meno!

Il prezzo dell'Asus ZenBook UX530 è troppo alto per le performance offerte. Quindi si paga meno per le sue prestazioni e più per il fatto che sia il 15" più piccolo attualmente disponibile. Se questo aspetto è meno importante per gli utenti, allora potrete guardare altrove. Tuttavia, il nuovo ZenBook ha una elevata mobilità e prestazioni accettabili, solo l'autonomia potrebbe sicuramente essere migliore.
