La Kaby Lake incontra la Pascal. Come tutti gli altri produttori di portatili gaming, anche Schenker Technologies aggiorna i suoi prodotti con l'ultima architettura di CPU Intel. Il 15" XMG P507 è il primo modello che abbiamo recensito, e sfrutta un pannello da 120 Hz oltre alla tecnologia Nvidia G-Sync per una immagine migliore.

I tempi di risposta del display mostrano quanto sia veloce lo schermo a cambaire da un colore all'altro. Tempi di risposta lenti poccono creare sovrapposizioni negloi oggetti in movimento. Specialmente i giocatori patiti del 3D dovrebbero usare uno schermo con rempi di risposta bassi.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

L'XMG P507 della Schenker Technologies è una buona scelta per il gamers che vogliono un portatile high-end potente e relativamente compatto. Un sistema da 15" che non delude sui due principali aspetti: componenti e prestazioni. Tutte le applicazioni sono fluide grazie all'SSD NVMe e alla GeForce GTX 1070.

Il produttore è da lodare anche per la combinazione della G-Sync e 120 Hz, ma il display per il resto delude le attese. Oltre al valore del nero, la precisione del colore, ed agli angoli di visuale, dobbiamo criticare anche il valore di contrasto. Un altro problema è l'effetto bleeding della retroilluminazione, il controllo della ventola in idle, l'elevata rumorosità sotto carico e l'autonomia mediocre. La qualità del suono inoltre dovrebbe essere migliorata.

Considerando il tutto, le performance sono ancora sufficienti per mantenere un posto nella nostra classifica Top 10 Gaming.

Il design dello chassis è abbastanza sobrio ed è ben costruito, ha una forma relativamente sottile e potete aggiornare i componenti. I buoni dispositivi di input e le numerose porte sono altri highlights. Tuttavia è un peccato che le porte USB 3.1 Gen.2 non supportino Thunderbolt 3.
