The display is disappointing, even at its often discounted price, while the performance and battery life are easier to take for under $700. The OmniBook is fine for basic tasks like web browsing, but if that's all you need a laptop for, you may consider going even cheaper with one of the best laptops under $500! On the other end of the spectrum, if you're looking for a high-performance laptop for work or creative tasks, you will be much better off with the MacBook Air M4 or one of the best 16-inch laptops. As much as I want to like every laptop I review, there are simply too many drawbacks to recommend the HP OmniBook 5 Laptop AI for most users unless it is deeply discounted.

HP OmniBook 5 Flip è un convertibile molto concreto. Via i fronzoli e spazio per un PC che punta a una buona esperienza d'uso, senza grossi punti deboli, almeno sulla carta. Nella pratica il layout della tastiera è forse la cosa che potrebbe mettere un po' più in crisi, unita ai riflessi del display che vengono contrastati solo in parte dalla retroilluminazione, quantomeno in certe condizioni di luce. Sono due deficit che non tutti percepiranno allo stesso modo, ma ci sono. Per il resto avrete tra le mani un PC portatile con una grande autonomia, grande flessibilità (letteralmente) e tutte le prestazioni che occorrono per le attività quotidiane e non solo.

But the HP’s 25-hour endurance and tiny GaN charger provide shoppers a good reason to buy it over the alternatives.

You are compromising on ports against key rivals, though. The Asus Zenbook A14 is a little richer in terms of ports, while also being even lighter and more stylish in its chassis, although battery life isn’t as strong. Likewise, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus 7441 (2024) trades an OLED screen for more potency and a better port selection against HP’s choice.

HP: Fondata nel 1939, l'azienda statunitense è un importante produttore di server e stampanti e una delle aziende IT leader a livello mondiale. Fino al 2015, la società si chiamava Hewlett-Packard Company. Dopo una scissione, la divisione computer è stata ribattezzata HP Inc.
Nel 2023, HP deteneva una quota di mercato approssimativa del 22% delle vendite globali di PC, diventando così il numero 2 dopo Lenovo.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
AMD Radeon 780M:
Scheda grafica integrata nelle APU della serie mobile Ryzen 7040 basata sull'architettura RDNA3 con 12 CUs (= 768 shaders) ed una velocità clock fino a 3 GHz.
AMD Radeon 840M: Una iGPU con architettura RDNA 3.5 piuttosto potente che ha debuttato all'inizio del 2025 e che è il diretto successore della Radeon 760M. Le sue 8 CU/WGP (512 shader unificati) funzionano fino a 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, generazione di immagini AI e altre funzioni moderne sono tutte supportate, così come molti codec video popolari, tra cui in primo luogo AVC, HEVC, VP9 e AV1. Le sue prestazioni di gioco sono abbastanza buone per giocare a 2024 giochi con impostazioni grafiche basse.
Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:
Scheda grafica integrata nei SoC Intel Tiger Lake G4 basati sulla nuova architettura Gen. 12 con 96 EU (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). La frequenza di clock dipende dal modello di processore. I chip Tiger Lake sono prodotti nel moderno processo 10nm+ di Intel.
Qualcomm Adreno X1-45 1.7 TFLOPS: Un adattatore grafico integrato che il SoC Snapdragon X Plus 8-core X1P-42-100 presenta. Rispetto alle più veloci iGPU X1-85 da 3,8 TFLOPS e 4,6 TFLOPS, questa non solo funziona a velocità di clock inferiori, ma dispone anche di un numero inferiore di shader unificati, con 768 come numero più probabile. L'architettura di base, a quanto pare, non è molto diversa da quella utilizzata nell'Adreno 730. Per quanto riguarda le prestazioni di gioco, è appena sufficiente per i giochi pre-2020 a risoluzioni come HD 720p con impostazioni grafiche basse.
Intel Graphics 4-Core iGPU (Arrow Lake): Scheda grafica integrata basata sull'architettura Xe LPG (simile alle GPU Arc dedicate, ma con un focus sull'efficienza). Offre 4 core Xe (64 motori vettoriali Xe) e 4 unità di ray-tracing.

AMD Hawk Point (Zen 4/4c):
R7 8840U: Un potente processore per computer portatili (APU) della famiglia Hawk Point. Non si tratta di un'APU completamente nuova; al contrario, l'R7 8840U è un R7 7840U sotto mentite spoglie. I suoi otto core Zen 4 funzionano da 3,3 GHz a 5,1 GHz e sono abilitati all'SMT per un totale di 16 thread di elaborazione. La grande iGPU Radeon 780M è responsabile dell'elaborazione 3D e di compiti simili e l'8840U dispone anche della tecnologia Ryzen AI di seconda generazione.
AMD :
Ryzen AI 5 340: Un processore relativamente potente della famiglia Krackan Point, introdotto all'inizio del 2025. L'APU integra 6 core CPU (tre core Zen 5 con frequenza fino a 4,8 GHz e tre core Zen 5c con frequenza fino a 3,4 GHz). Il Ryzen AI integrato offre fino a 50 INT8 TOPS per accelerare vari carichi di lavoro AI.
Intel Raptor Lake-U:
Core 7 150U: Processore mobile di fascia alta basato sull'architettura Alder Lake. Offre 2 core di prestazioni e 8 core di efficienza e può elaborare 12 thread contemporaneamente. Il turbo clock massimo dei core P è di 5,4 GHz. L'i5-1365U supporta anche le funzioni di gestione vPro Essentials.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X:
SD X Plus X1P-42-100: Un system-on-a-chip con architettura ARM relativamente conveniente da utilizzare nei computer portatili Windows, il cui debutto è previsto per il 20 maggio 2024. Si dice che X1P-42-100 abbia 8 core di CPU Oryon (8 core P, 0 core E) che funzionano a una velocità di clock non ancora nota di almeno 3 GHz. Una GPU Adreno da 3,8 TFLOPS, una NPU Hexagon da 45 TOPS, un controller di memoria LPDDR5x-8448 incredibilmente veloce, il supporto USB 4.0, il supporto TB 4 e il supporto PCIe 4 sono molto probabilmente tutti presenti a bordo. Questo chip X Plus non utilizza lo stesso die su cui si basano i modelli X1P-64-100, X1E-78-100, X1E-80-100, X1E-84-100.
Intel Arrow Lake:
Ultra 7 255U: Un chip Meteor Lake di fascia media che ha debuttato nel dicembre 2023. Questo processore Core Ultra di 1a generazione è arrivato a sostituire i processori Core di 13a generazione; ha 12 core (2 + 8 + 2) e 14 thread a disposizione. I core Performance, che sono 2, funzionano fino a 4,8 GHz, mentre i core Efficient, che sono 10 (8 core principali più 2 extra che si trovano nella Low Power Island), funzionano fino a 3,8 GHz. L'Intel Arc Graphics a 4 core, appena sfornato, funge da adattatore grafico integrato - funziona fino a 1,95 GHz - e c'è anche una serie di altre nuovissime tecnologie in offerta, tra cui la NPU AI Boost integrata con due motori Gen 3 per l'accelerazione hardware dei carichi di lavoro AI. Il consumo energetico di base di questo processore per computer portatile è di 15 W, mentre il consumo massimo di energia Turbo consigliato da Intel è di 57 W.
