Il MacBook Pro è uno dei computer Apple più importanti per me, nonché il primo che ho acquistato dopo aver deciso di passare definitivamente a Mac nel 2006 (a seguito di una piccola parentesi con l'iMac G3 nel 1999). Da quel momento in poi ne ho cambiato più o meno uno ogni due anni e per un periodo è stato anche il mio unico computer casa/lavoro che usavo come "core" che alimentava le rispettive postazioni. Negli ultimi 10 anni l'intensificazione dell'attività in ambito video mi ha portato a sentire sempre più stringenti i portatili, così ho iniziato ad adoperare i computer desktop fino all'attuale iMac Pro (recensione).

MacBook Pro 16 è il notebook professionale più perfetto che Apple abbia mai realizzato. Ci sono passi in avanti su praticamente tutti i fronti, ed il piacere d'uso è davvero completo, a 360°. La perfezione però non è di questo mondo, ed anche lui qualche margine di miglioramento ce l'ha, ma Apple ha davvero fatto tutto ciò che poteva. Gli utenti Pro che vogliano usare un MacBook hanno oggi un nuovo punto di riferimento, che spazza via il passato, per di più ad un prezzo che non rincara, il che non è poco (in tutti i sensi).

Se invece state pensando al grande salto da Windows a macOS, questa è davvero una gran macchina su cui "atterrare", anche se potrebbe comportare un esborso superiore rispetto ad una macchina Windows. I confronti PC/Mac sono sempre complicati da fare, perché ciascuna soluzione ha una serie di piccoli elementi di unicità che risultano difficili da quantificare in un prezzo. Tuttavia abbiamo isolato alcune proposte commerciali di realtà concorrenti quali che potrebbero essere messe a confronto con questo MacBook Pro 16, seppur con dovuti distinguo. Ma il passaggio tra piattaforme operative differenti comporta anche una serie di costi occulti che inizialmente può essere difficile valutare: in questo lo consigliamo solamente a chi, magari per motivi differenti dall'impiego professionale, conosca già molto bene il mondo Mac con tutti i suoi pro e i suoi contro. Non fate "switch" a scatola chiusa, soprattutto se si tratta di un'attività professionale.

A chi consiglio quindi il nuovo MacBook Pro 16? Sicuramente a chi non ha limiti di budget e vuole un prodotto che gli permetta di scendere a pochissimi compromessi in termini di potenza di calcolo pur mantenendo un'ottima autonomia quando staccato dall'alimentazione. Ma anche a chi già possiede il modello da 15 pollici e non è soddisfatto al 100% per via di tutti quegli aspetti (tastiera, prestazioni ecc.) che qui sono stati migliorati. Se rientrate in questa categoria cercate di rivendere a buon prezzo il vostro modello e investite qualche centinaio di euro nella differenza; non resterete sicuramente delusi.

At $2,399 for the base model, and $3,499 as spec’d, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is for those who need their laptop to be productive — it’s a pro machine through and through. I would advise against spending this much money on a computer if all you’re going to use it for is Netflix and word-processing. For that, Apple has some great notebooks that are far cheaper and better suited to those tasks. If you want something slightly smaller with only a little less power, the 13-inch Pro is a great option. If you want a true thin-and-light machine, the MacBook Air might suit you. I enjoyed my time with the 16-inch MacBook Pro. It continues to be my work computer for everything from researching to writing to video editing. With fantastic performance, decent battery life, a convenient form factor, and a brilliant screen, there’s not much to dislike. It’s far better than its predecessor, and if you need a workhorse laptop running macOS, look no further.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
