La versione base del nuovo MacBook Pro 16 è dotata della versione completa di Apple M3 Pro, anche se non offre prestazioni molto superiori a quelle di M2 Pro. D'altra parte, l'SSD di base è diventato di nuovo più veloce e la luminosità massima SDR è stata aumentata. Inoltre, un'efficienza migliorata consente una durata della batteria estremamente lunga.

This is possible due to the high and stable CPU clocks during full loads. Interestingly, in this scenario, the fans remain nearly quiet. They can become a bit more audible if the chip temperature hits 100°C which seems possible when the CPU and the GPU are heavily stressed at the same time. It clearly visible that this laptop is tuned for maximum performance and comfort. That comes at a price of higher CPU temps under longer loads. However, the keyboard only gets warm but not hot which is good news. The build quality is outstanding!

Apple M3 Pro 18-Core GPU: Scheda grafica integrata che offre tutti i 38 core progettati da Apple e integrati nel SoC Apple M2 Max. La scheda grafica non ha una memoria grafica dedicata, ma può utilizzare la veloce memoria unificata LPDDR5-6400 con un bus a 512 bit (fino a 400 GBit/s).
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
