Poco F7 Ultra, la recensione: vero top di gamma o c'è il trucco?

La vera forza di Poco F7 Ultra è il prezzo, se consideriamo le specifiche. Per la versione 12/256 GB Xiaomi chiede 729 euro, abbattibili però sul loro store con un coupon da 50 euro e con altri 100 euro dalla permuta di un vecchio telefono, uno qualunque. Il prezzo reale atterrà così a 579 euro. Ovviamente non pochissimi in assoluto, ma pochi per un top di gamma, per quanto imperfetto (fotocamera media ed eSim mancante sono le carenze più evidenti). Per il cugino Xiaomi 15 Ultra, però, la richiesta di listino è di ben 1500 euro: qualche conpromesso, puntando su questo Poco F7 Ultra, è più che accettabile.

Ed eccoci al momento di tirare le somme e di dare un giudizio più rapido a proposito di questo POCO F7 Ultra. Parliamo senza dubbio di un prodotto interessante, che offre caratteristiche di livello assoluto in molti dei comparti più importanti di uno smartphone. Dalla piattaforma Snapdragon 8 Elite, al display luminosissimo e super definito, passando per una autonomia di ottimo livello e una ricarica super, fino a delle fotocamere che, finalmente, non deludono. Uno smartphone senza difetti? Ovviamente no. La mancanza del supporto e-SIM non può essere messa da parte, così come il pannello non LTPO e un software che ancora insiste con bloatware e notifiche spam. Ma sono tutte "mancanze" che vengono secondo me ben bilanciate da un posizionamento indubbiamente interessante.

Il nuovo nato di casa Xiaomi è infatti bello da vedere, potente e pure capace di realizzare degli scatti di ottima qualità, pur se non al livello dei dispositivi più blasonati. Ma il bello è che non ha veri punti deboli e, considerato che si può comprare alla metà del prezzo di altri modelli Ultra e Pro, ci sono poche ragioni per non consigliarlo, e sono praticamente tutte legate a esigenze specifiche di chi vuole un comparto fotografico più potente.

Il POCO F7 Ultra, al prezzo a cui viene venduto, è ad oggi uno degli smartphone con il rapporto qualità prezzo migliore sul mercato ed è anche uno degli smartphone Android più completi nella sua fascia, quello che un tempo si sarebbe definito flagship killer. Punti deboli rilevanti non ne ha, neppure nel comparto fotocamere dove le due fotocamere ultra wide e tele non sono eccezionali come quelle dello Xiaomi 15 Ultra ma fanno molto bene il loro lavoro, soprattutto il tele che con i suoi 60 mm e con uno zoom generativo basato su IA che fino a 120 mm lavora benissimo è perfetto per quasi tutte le situazioni di scatto. Al prezzo di listino forse l’acquisto è un po’ azzardato, si entra nella fascia “iPhone ricondizionato”, ma se con il trade-in e gli sconti si arriva a 500 euro con questa cifra, comunque importante, si porta a casa un ottimo prodotto.

Il prezzo di lancio pari a 699 euro per il taglio 12/256GB lo trovo a fuoco per uno smartphone che va bene anche se nonostante il processore alla fine non è un top, soprattutto per il comparto camere che del resto da qualche anno a questa parte è ciò che distingue davvero i top. Ho trovato il software più maturo ed in netto miglioramento, magari il Pro con Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 a 499 euro sarà ancora più interessante? Peccato solo per la compatibilità con le eSIM, assente su entrambi.

As Poco F-series phones go, this one is Ultra alright. In the end, I’m a bit torn with the Poco F7 Ultra. Yes, it’s Poco’s most powerful phone to date, and it has a strong spec sheet. That’s without mentioning the Wi-Fi connectivity issues I experienced during testing. Still, it delivers on the typical Poco benchmarks.
