Sony Xperia 10 è uno smartphone di fascia media con un prezzo di circa 270€ scontato che sarebbe il suo reale valore, anche perchè il prezzo di lancio 350€ mi sembrava un po’ troppo alto per ciò che offre; ho apprezzato molto il tentativo di Sony di introdurre una novità nel formato del display osando dove altri si sono fermati. Consigliato per chi cerca un medio gamma con un prezzo non troppo elevato, al prezzo che ho scritto in apertura ovviamente.

Le nouveau format 21:9 du Sony Xperia 10 semble étrange à première vue, mais on s'y habitue rapidement. Le design fin facilite également l'utilisation de l'écran sans avoir à se déplacer. C'est aussi une bonne chose que Sony ait doublé la mémoire interne, vous avez donc une plus grande réserve avant d'avoir à utiliser une carte microSD pour étendre la mémoire.

Sia X10 che 1 guardano al pubblico dei videogiocatori, che troveranno nei 21:9 nuove modalità di interazione e divertimento. Sarà anche strano a prima vista, ma il nuovo rapporto dimensionale offre una visione diversa della mobilità che spesso si è persa, in questi mesi, tra display tutti uguali, notch e poche innovazioni di sorta. Sony continua a spingere la sua idea di hi-tech per la massa, consapevole di rappresentare un brand di nicchia, che magari non competerà con le alte vette dell’olimpo dei cellulari ma si assicura un posizionamento ben più elevato delle tante, troppe, cineserie di cui sono pieni i negozi e gli store online.

Tricky one this. There’s no denying it, this is an excellent phone when it comes to the cameras, the screen and the GUI. It’s a different form-factor, that’s for sure, but I’m not going to berate them too much for that as there’ll definitely be lots of you out there who will love the tall and almost remote-control-like appearance of this device. However, what I will say is that, in this world of “all screen” phone frontages and multiple use cases, it’s a hard sell for Sony to say, “We’re doing this complete letterbox design because that’s how movies are formatted”. Sure, movies look great on the phone and there’s no black bars, but what about for the rest of the time, when your thumb doesn’t reach high enough and you have to employ one of those work-arounds that Sony has put in place to let you use the phone with one-hand?

After playing fourth or fifth fiddle for the longest time, Sony nails it with the Xperia 10. The performance is solid, the camera is great and the battery life is awesome. The weird 21:9 aspect ratio takes some getting used to but once you start using it you hardly notice it. This is a very good handset from Sony and we're excited to see what the flagship Xperia 1 brings to the table.

For a mid-range device, both the Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus are interesting choices. The 21:9 aspect ratio makes them unique, but I don’t know if it’s enough to make you want to choose these over others in the market. If you were to go with one of these, I’d choose the Xperia 10 Plus over the smaller sibling mainly due to the slightly better specs, larger screen, and better cameras. I really see no reason why the smaller Xperia 10 exists to be honest.

The Sony Xperia 10 was released in February 2019 to little fanfare. Initial excitement for the device’s design was mostly quashed by the confirmation of more of its details — mainly the small 2870 mAh battery, two-year old Snapdragon 630 chipset, and $350 USD MSRP. The phone received almost no coverage by the major YouTube review players (Sony is notoriously poor at community management and marketing), and written reviews were sparse and fairly critical: A 6.0 from DigitalTrends, 3.5/5 from both TechRadar and TrustedReviews, and a withering 2.5/5 from PCMag. However, the Xperia 10 is far and away my favourite smartphone of 2019. Allow me to explain.

I display con dimensioni maggiori consentono risoluzioni più elevate. Quindi, i dettagli come le lettere sono più grandi. D'altro canto, il consumo energetico è inferiore negli schermi con diagonali piccole e su dispositivi più piccoli, più leggeri ed economici.
