In review: Lenovo ThinkPad E550. Test model provided by CampusPoint.

Con un prezzo di 1000 Euro (~$1100), il modello top della serie E550 non può più essere considerato un entry-level e di conseguenza, le aspettative aumentano. Sfortunatamente, il ThinkPad non convince in pieno.

Le principali pecche sono il pannello TN, che è mediocre a voler essere buoni, l'hard drive leto e la garanzia di appena 12 mesi. Gli altri modelli della serie hanno gli stessi punti deboli, ma in genere costano anche qualche centinaio di euro in meno. La nostra configurazione non è la più convincente, in quanto parte del budget è stato ovviamente speso per il prestigioso CPU Core i7 - che non offre però un reale vantaggio di prestazioni rispetto al più economico processore Core i5.

La nostra raccomandazione è di considerare un modello più economico.

Considerando il tutto, l'E550 resta un solido cavallo da tiro con superbi dispositivi di input e molto silenzioso. Ovviamente ci sono alcune differenze rispetto ai modelli delle serie superiori L e T, ma considerando il prezzo, si tratta di differenze accettabili. I consumatori pazienti potrebbero aspettare sino al lancio dell'E560 che monterà uno Skylake, in quanto potrebbe trasformare l'E550 in un vero affare: i modelli superati ThinkPad vengono venduti a prezzi davvero sorprendenti.
