Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Il Pavilion differisce dal modelo Skylake solo per processore ed hard drive. L'HP da 14" ora ha un processore Core i5 della generazione Kaby Lake che dovrebbe soddisfare le esigenze della maggioranza di utenti. Il portatile è silenzioso quando si disabilita tramite BIOS l'opzione che tiene sempre in funzione la ventola. Inoltre, difficilmente si scalda. All'interno c'è un hard drive da 500 GB. E' necessario aprire il case per sostituirlo con un SSD. L'HP Pavilion non è particolarmente user-friendly per questo aspetto.

Gli utenti che cercano un silenzioso 14" con una potente CPU da usare in casa potrebbero essere felici con questo Pavilion.

Nono possiamo aggiungere altri motivi per comprare questo piccolo portatile. HP ha fatto troppi tagli in tutti i componenti. Sebbene lo schermo installato sia un modello IPS con angoli di visuale stabili, ha una luminosità molto bassa e una superficie lucida. Un portatili da 14" è pensato per portarlo in giro. Tuttavia, l'autonomia di questo Pavilion lo esclude. Oltre questo, HP installa solo una porta Fast Ethernet. Mentre l'attuale standard è la Gigabit Ethernet. Anche il modulo Wi-Fi è lento. Gli acquirenti si aspetta un un SSD invece di un HDD ad un prezzo di circa 600 Euro (~$635). Infine, HP offre solo un anno di garanzia.
