At just over 1kg it's surprisingly light, and the nine-hour battery life adequately provides for a full day's work in the field. If you want a full-sized laptop then the Toughbook CF-U1 probably won't be for you, but if you can live with the tiny 5.6in touchscreen and the shrunken keyboard, you'll get a seriously tough PC for your money.

Rugged laptops are designed to meet the adverse conditions that people in the military, construction, and various outdoor professions may face—and come through unscathed. The rugged and ultraportable Pansonic Toughbook CF-U1 certainly isn't for everyone, but even the workers it's designed for might have a hard time dealing with its difficult navigation and tiny screen.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 500:
Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Intel Atom:
La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
Z520: CPU single core energeticamente efficiente con prestazioni molto contenute. Offre maggiori features (risparmio energetico, VT-x) rispetto alla serie N Atoms.
