La GeForce RTX 3080 mobile è significativamente più lenta della GeForce RTX 3080 desktop per una serie di motivi, ma questo non significa che gli utenti dovrebbero ignorare del tutto i portatili GeForce RTX 30. I nostri test di benchmark con alcuni portatili GeForce RTX 3060 mostrano che sono alla pari con i portatili GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q che sono stati venduti a prezzi più alti solo uno o due anni fa.

I numeri di 3DMark Fire Strike e Time Spy qui sotto rivelano che il laptop medio GeForce RTX 3060 distante di pochi punti percentuali del laptop medio RTX 2080 Max-Q. Le differenze possono variare molto di più tra i singoli laptop, tuttavia, a causa dell'ampiezza dell'intervallo TGP per alcune GPU Nvidia mobili. Tuttavia, il fatto che la RTX 3060 mobile possa avvicinarsi così tanto alla RTX 2080 Max-Q, generalmente più costosa, indica prestazioni più elevate in rapporto al prezzo per la maggior parte dei portatili RTX 3060.

Le prestazioni nei giochi del mondo reale mostrano risultati simili con le due GPU che si scambiano colpi. I nostri dati sono lungi dall'essere completi, ma la RTX 3060 mobile è in grado di superare costantemente la RTX 2080 Max-Q in titoli come Metro Exodus, Division 2 e Borderlands 3 di ben il 20%, mentre la linea tra loro diventa più oscura per titoli come Shadow of the Tomb Raider o Red Dead Redemption 2. Le prestazioni gaming sembrano trovarsi tra la GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q e la GeForce RTX 2080 mobile prima di calcolare i vantaggi del DLSS o gli effetti dell'abilitazione dell'RT.

Per l'utente finale, i dati suggeriscono che potrebbe essere meglio scegliere una versione GeForce RTX 3060 invece di una versione RTX 2080 Max-Q se presentato con due portatili da scegliere. Il Razer Blade 15, per esempio, è disponibile con le opzioni RTX 3060 e RTX 2080 Max-Q che quasi sicuramente avranno prestazioni simili l'una all'altra nonostante siano centinaia di dollari di differenza nel prezzo.
