EN→ITDell's Inspiron brand has been around for ages and has seen plenty of transformations in its time. These days it represents Dell's entry-level, value range, which is why its netbooks go by the title Inspiron Mini. This is a good desktop replacement laptop which, however you configure it, offers excellent value for money and performance. It's got a simple, stylish chassis too, but it's let down by a slightly iffy keyboard and a noisy cooling fan.

Il Dell Inspiron 17R è un notebook ideale per le famiglie e dal buon rapporto qualità-prezzo. Molto interessante il grande display da 17 pollici con retroilluminazione LED supportato da una buona scheda grafica. Dell: Dell Inc. è una multinazionale del settore tecnologico che sviluppa, produce, vende e fornisce assistenza per personal computers ed altri prodotti del medesimo settore. Con sede principale in Texas, Dell ha più di 82.700 impiegati in tutto il mondo (2009). Nel 2006, Dell ha acquisito il produttore di computer hardware Alienware. Nella maggioranza dei paesi in cui opera, i portatili sono venduti direttamente ai consumatori dalla Dell ed ogni portatile è assemblato sulla base delle richieste dei singoli consumatori e delle opzioni disponibili. I dati del 2007 sulla suddivisione del mercato dei personal computers (ricerca di mercato IDC): HP 18.9 %, Dell 16.4 %, Acer 9.9 %, Lenovo 7.5 %, Apple 5.7 %.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M: Basata sulla GeForce GT 425M con una velocità clock leggermente superiore.

Intel Core i5:
430M: Il Core i5-430M è una CPU dual core di media classe che sfrutta solo 3 MB di L3 Cache (rispetto alla I7-640M) ed ha un clock tra 2.26-2.53 GHz (Turbo Mode). Inoltre, nella 430M mancano VT-d, trusted Execution e funzioni AES. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere gestiti 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono incluse anche una scheda grafica integrata (Intel HD Graphics da 500-733 MHz) ed un controller memoria DDR3.
460M: L'Intel Core i5-460M è una CPU dual core di fascia alta per portatili ed ha un clock (grazie al Turbo Mode) da 2.53 a 2.8 GHz. Ogni core si basa sulla micro architettura Nehalem (Westemere). L'hyperthreading consente alla CPU Dual Core di gestire 4 threads contemporaneamente (per un miglior utilizzo della pipeline).
2410M: Processore dual-core basato sulla architettura Sandy Bridge con una scheda grafica integrata ed un controller di memoria dual-channel DDR3. La CPU ha un clock da 2.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.6-2.9 GHz) e la GPU da 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
Intel Core i3:
330M: La Core i3-330M è una 350M con un clock inferiore e di conseguenza manca della feature Turbo Boost ed ha un clock con un massimo di 2.13 GHz. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere processati 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono inclusi anche una scheda grafica integrata (GMA HD 3150) ed un controller di memoria DDR3.
17.3: Allo stesso tempo i display da 17 pollici sono offerti più frequentemente come formato standard per i desktop-replacements. I portatili DTR non sono facili da trasportare, richiedono molta più energia ma in compenso i testi possono essere letti facilmente e le risoluzioni elevate non sono problematiche. I DTR sono principalmente destinati ad un utilizzo stazionario da scrivania, dove il peso ed i consumi non sono rilevanti.

Questo peso è medio per i notebooks. Di conseguenza la numerosità di portatili con schermo da 15-16 pollici è condizionata proprio dal peso.
