Xiaomi arriva in Europa alla soglia dei 1.000€ con Mi 10 Pro, ottimo smartphone dotato di processore Snapdragon 865 e connettività 5G monosim, molto bene sia ricezione, autonomia, volume e prestazioni, tende a scaldare in modalità gaming e sotto il sole, la fotocamera ha grandi potenzialità ma va calibrato il fuoco, sul bordo inferiore tende a sfuocare, problema risolvibile, spero, a livello software.

Prezzi di 799euro per Mi 10 e 999euro per Mi 10 Pro. Secondo me, questa volta vince Mi 10 standard, costa 200 euro meno, differenza che si riduce a 100 euro a parità di memoria (8/256), dove il senso di acquistare il Mi 10 standard viene un pò meno. Se volessi uno Xiaomi Mi 10 mi orienterei però sul taglio più piccolo (8/128). Se dovessi spendere 1000 euro per la versione 8/256, probabilmente andrei su altri smartphone che sono impermabili e che mi garantiscono delle piccole cose che fanno di un top gamma un vero top gamma. Loro lo sono, e la MIUI a me continua a piacere tanto, ma forse nella mia testa, Xiaomi è ancora quel brand da best buy.

Tuttavia, la proposta di Xiaomi non è perfetta: manca il jack audio per le cuffie, la porta USB Type-C è 2.0 (quindi niente uscita video), lo slot è per una sola SIM, la memoria interna non è espandibile, il dispositivo non è impermeabile, le fotocamere posteriori sono abbastanza sporgenti, il peso non è dei più ridotti e c'è qualche piccola incertezza lato software. In ogni caso, capite bene che stiamo parlando di aspetti che in molti ritengono secondari e i punti di forza sono di gran lunga più importanti delle pecche descritte. Tirando le somme, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro ha il diritto di essere definito come uno dei migliori smartphone top di gamma presenti sul mercato. Certo, il prezzo non è per tutti e la concorrenza è agguerrita, ma chi saprà dare fiducia al dispositivo si troverà dinanzi a un ottimo prodotto.

Chiudendo il discorso resta comunque fuori discussione il fatto che la cifra sia importante ma a parer mio non è esagerata e dobbiamo comunque tenere conto dello street price, che è sempre un buon alleato per chi non ha fretta. Mi 10 Pro è già disponibile online per il preordine e in questa fase di lancio, acquistandolo si potrà avere in regalo il kit di sensori smart per la casa. La componentistica è adeguata al prezzo, gira bene e mi è piaciuto ma ci sono dei ma: quali? Xiaomi has some serious competition around the world. Phones such as the freshly announced OnePlus 8 Pro, as well as recent flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S20, LG V60, Huawei P40 Pro, Oppo Find X2, and others are legit contenders with the Mi 10 Pro. Right now, the Mi 10 Pro is retailing for about $1,099 (€999, £879) from online retailers. That puts it directly in line with the cost of its direct competitors. So which do you choose? If you want something more mainstream, stick to the Samsung or the LG. They’re available at carrier stores and big box retailers and are the safe purchase. The Oppo Find X2 and OnePlus 8 Pro are incredibly similar, and are perhaps the best devices to put head-to-head against the Xiaomi. For those living in China, the Xiaomi is probably on equal footing with the Huawei P40 Pro. Most of these phones go spec-for-spec with one another and often the only thing separating them is perhaps camera quality and battery life. You can’t go wrong with any of these devices.

SD 865: SoC di fascia alta per smartphone che è stato introdotto alla fine del 2019 e prodotto in 7 nm al TSMC (migliorato N7P). Integra un "Prime Core" basato su un'architettura ARM Cortex-A77 con clock fino a 2,84 GHz. Altri tre core di prestazioni sono anch'essi basati sull'A77 ma con clock fino a 2,42 GHz. Inoltre, sono integrati quattro core a risparmio energetico basati sull'architettura ARM Cortex-A55 con clock fino a 1,8 GHz. Oltre ai core del processore, il SoC integra un modem WiFi 6 (incluso il supporto mmWave a 60 GHz), un Hexagon 698 DSP (fino a 15 TOPS) e uno Spectra 480 ISP. Il controller di memoria integrato supporta ora una memoria LPDDR5 più veloce con un massimo di 2.750 MHz. LTE non è più incluso nel SoC, ma si deve usare il modem esterno Snapdragon X55 5G.
