Motorola Edge Plus è un top di gamma interessante e concreto, in grado di offrire un buon design, delle ottime prestazioni, un comparto software quasi stock (con l'ottima aggiunta della modalità Moto Gametime e di altre funzionalità), un'autonomia granitica, uno schermo niente male con refresh rate di 90Hz e un completo comparto connettività (non mancano USB Type-C 3.1, jack audio, 5G e NFC). Nonostante questo, ci sono diverse sbavature: il peso e le dimensioni non sono delle più contenute, il pulsante d'accensione e il bilanciere del volume sono un po' troppo piccoli, i bordi del display sono fin troppo curvi, il comparto fotografico non raggiunge le vette di altri flagship, manca l'impermeabilità, non è presente il riconoscimento facciale e c'è la possibilità di inserire una singola nanoSIM. Il prezzo di listino è 1199 euro, ma già adesso si trova attorno ai 1000 euro online.

Motorola mostra i muscoli con Edge Plus, esteticamente molto accattivante e maneggevole grazie al ratio 19.5:9 che ci consente di avere un ampio display da 6.7″ in dimensioni contenute, autonomia, audio e ricezione sono da Motorola, al top come sempre, la velocità di sistema è fulminea, fotocamera molto migliorata, in notturna va bene ma si può migliorare a livello software prolungando i tempi di esposizione, prezzo in linea con i top 5G del momento.

Edge+ è la punta di diamante di una Motorola che non sembra per nulla arrugginita in questi ultimi tre anni in cui non ha più sfornato smartphone premium. Esteticamente Edge+, come anche il fratello più piccolo Edge, si fa notare per quel suo display con i bordi fortemente curvi ma anche per una qualità elevata. La fotocamera raggiunge standard elevati di giorno, meno di notte ma di certo i miglioramenti lato software arriveranno e sappiamo che in questo Motorola sa benissimo organizzarsi e lo vediamo con l’interfaccia e la sua ottimizzazione con il processore e l’autonomia. Una caratteristica incredibile per lo smartphone che sembra quasi non scaricarsi mai anche sotto forte stress.

La famiglia Edge è di quelle che spiazza a prima vista, con il loro design sono certamente riusciti a distinguersi dalla massa fornendo così un biglietto da visita di tutto rispetto, poi confermato nei fatti. Se dovessi scegliere tra i due, a conti fatti e dopo averli utilizzati entrambi, punterei ancora Edge per il semplice posizionamento e il prezzo più accessibile. I compromessi ci sono, è vero, ma non valgono a mio avviso gli oltre 400€ che li separano.

1199 euro di listino. Bellissimo, solo Motorola poteva fare un telefono con i bordi così curvi che mi piacesse, ma gli preferisco il non plus. Più leggero, 188g vs 203g, dual sim con espansione di memoria, stesso software e stesso display, batteria un po' più piccola ma sempre buona autonomia che qui di contro è ottima e foto un po' peggio sì ma che comunque ci stanno. Il plus è ovviamente migliore dal punto di vista delle performance ma, pur piacendomi molto, il gap di prezzo è notevole. Comunque, brava Motorola per aver reso usabile un telefono così borderless!!

Motorola Edge Plus è un gran ritorno per l'azienda nel campo dei top di gamma. Da scegliere però solo se volete l'ultimo processore, altrimenti l'opzione Motorola Edge offre tutto quello che abbiamo detto sopra ad un prezzo inferiore.

Motorola Edge Plus è uno smartphone che ci ha sorpreso in positivo essendo praticamente esente da difetti. Certo, per il prezzo a cui viene venduto ci si aspettano alcuni miglioramenti sul comparto fotografico, l’hardware infatti promette risultati migliori di quelli finora ottenuti, ma col tempo può solo migliorare se verrà aggiornato con frequenza. L’unica assenza importante comunque è una certificazione contro acqua e polvere.

It's been four years since Motorola last launched a high performance flagship phone, but they used to be one of the top-tier android manufacturers (anyone remember the Droid line?) I know I don't have to tell you that lately these are some very odd times. Social distancing aside, from a tech perspective, this is the time when flagship killers decided to make a flagship. A time when the ultra-premium companies are doing more-powerful mid-rangers. And even the most popular brands are going Ultra, at least when it comes to their approach. Obviously no one could've prepared the world for what's currently happening, and proof of it is that back in early February, we got briefed about a product that was gonna be unveiled at MWC, and then that went south. And then delays kept coming and it is now officially two months after the original launch date was planned. This is the Motorola Edge+, the company's return into the flagship world, and also, kind of the flagship that a lot of people have been asking for, but not from the company we were expecting. SD 865: SoC di fascia alta per smartphone che è stato introdotto alla fine del 2019 e prodotto in 7 nm al TSMC (migliorato N7P). Integra un "Prime Core" basato su un'architettura ARM Cortex-A77 con clock fino a 2,84 GHz. Altri tre core di prestazioni sono anch'essi basati sull'A77 ma con clock fino a 2,42 GHz. Inoltre, sono integrati quattro core a risparmio energetico basati sull'architettura ARM Cortex-A55 con clock fino a 1,8 GHz. Oltre ai core del processore, il SoC integra un modem WiFi 6 (incluso il supporto mmWave a 60 GHz), un Hexagon 698 DSP (fino a 15 TOPS) e uno Spectra 480 ISP. Il controller di memoria integrato supporta ora una memoria LPDDR5 più veloce con un massimo di 2.750 MHz. LTE non è più incluso nel SoC, ma si deve usare il modem esterno Snapdragon X55 5G.
