Il Samsung Galaxy S22 da 6,1 pollici è il modello più piccolo e più conveniente della nuova serie Galaxy S. Anche così, offre le stesse alte prestazioni SoC dei suoi colleghi più costosi ed è quasi alla pari in termini di caratteristiche. Inoltre, è migliorato molto rispetto al suo predecessore, il Galaxy S21.
Il Samsung Galaxy S22 da 6,1 pollici è il modello più piccolo e più conveniente della nuova serie Galaxy S. Anche così, offre le stesse alte prestazioni SoC dei suoi colleghi più costosi ed è quasi alla pari in termini di caratteristiche. Samsung Galaxy S22 parte da 879 euro nella versione 8/128 GB, si sale a 929 euro nella variante da 256 GB, per una differenza di prezzo abbastanza contenuta che rende il modello superiore un'opzione interessante. Il prezzo dello smartphone è certamente elevato, ma non così tanto rispetto ad altre alternative e soprattutto è accompagnato da una serie di promo di lancio decisamente stuzzicanti. Abbiamo ormai imparato a conoscere il programma di trade in con supervalutazione dell'usato fino a 750 euro (non solo smartphone, dategli un'occhiata), a ciò, fino l 10 marzo si aggiungono le Galaxy Buds Pro e 2 anni di Samsung Care contro i danni accidentali. Tutto sommato, con un po' di scaltrezza (ad esempio combinando questi prezzi con promo dei negozi) rischiate di portarvi a casa un S22 con un esborso minimo. Aggiungo una doverosa considerazione personale, dal momento che ero stato critico sulla proposizione tecnica dei tre S22 (posizione ribadita anche da Gabriele nella recensione di Galaxy S22 Plus)con un 22 Plus troppo lontano da Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S22 è disponibile a 879 Euro nel taglio base da 128 GB e 929 Euro nel taglio da 256 GB, Samsung Galaxy S22+ invece viene proposto a 1079 Euro nella versione da 128 GB e 1129 Euro nella versione da 256 GB. Il più compatto è indubbiamente un ottimo prodotto con l’unico neo di una batteria un po’ sacrificata che obbliga ad avere un occhio di riguardo durante il giorno per arrivare a chiudere la giornata. Resta quello da scegliere per chi non vuole fare troppo stretching con le mani tuttavia, se lo trovate a un buon prezzo il consiglio è quello di orientarsi su Galaxy S21 che sul fronte autonomia e temperature attualmente è più equilibrato. Molto più a fuoco e senza particolari difetti Samsung Galaxy S22+ che va semplicemente a migliorare l’S21+ dello scorso anno offrendo qualcosa in più. Logicamente passare dagli S21 agli S22 ha poco senso, soprattutto ai prezzi di listino, tuttavia potrebbe convincervi la promozione lancio in combinata ovvero le Galaxy Buds Pro in regalo se li ordinate entro il 10 marzo e la super-valutaizone dell’usato arrivando anche a 550 Euro per S21 e 700 Euro per S21+.

Il prezzo di 879 euro per S22 con 128GB di memoria non è di certo basso ma a questo punto metterei 50 euro in più per avere almeno i 256GB. Davvero peccato che non ci siano versioni con 12GB di RAM. Insomma, se avessi S21 non lo cambierei e se dovessi scegliere un S22 sceglierei il modello Ultra senza pensarci. Capisco che il prezzo sia ancora più alto ma camere, batteria, penna e i 12GB di RAM valgono tutta la differenza. Risparmiando allora andrei sul solito ottimo best buy A52s 5G, sicuramente meno performante ma molto più economico!

Some would argue that the standard of flagship smartphones has been set so high for so long that the newest versions are only incremental improvements on their predecessors. If this is true, last years flagship smartphones are an increasingly good place to look for a decent camera phone, as their prices keep on dropping. Now that the Samsung Galaxy S22 is available for around $450 / £450 (or less, renewed!), this makes it incredible value for money, at roughly half the price when it was first released. It offers an impressive set of cameras, a good selfie camera with autofocus, and a flagship phone design, with all the features you’d expect on a flagship.

When recording video, the S22 does well in bright light and under indoor conditions. Its dynamic range is wide and like the best in class iPhone 13 or the S22 Ultra, the S22 is capable of capturing good highlight detail in difficult high-contrast scenes. Performance is less impressive in low light, though, with frequent highlight and shadow clipping. Color is generally nice with accurate white balance unless you record in low light. Noise is an area for improvement and is already quite intrusive in bright light videos. It becomes more problematic as the light gets dimmer. In this sample clip, we can see the Galaxy S22’s wide dynamic range, with good highlight retention in the bright window. The camera struggles a little with focusing on the people on the sofa. There is some focus breathing, and overall the S22’s video autofocus is not quite on the same level as the Ultra. Stabilization artifacts and frame shift can be observed as well. Noise is quite intrusive around the 40-sec mark, especially when there is motion and on areas of plain color, such as the walls.

Samsung Galaxy S22 review (early verdict)

I’ll be putting the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Samsung Galaxy S22+ through more rigorous testing at a later date, but after having spent a short amount of time with the new phones, I must say I was impressed. Both pack high-end tech and clever AI into compact and sophisticated devices. So far I’m struggling to find any deal-breaking downsides, other than the lack of a MicroSD card slot and the fact that you’ll need to buy the charger separately. The only reason I wouldn't recommend buying one is if you just bought the Samsung Galaxy S21 because they aren't really different enough to justify it. For anyone else though, this is an excellent piece of kit. Although the Ultra is the cream of the crop, it’s these cheaper models that are likely to convince the most people.

I’m a big fan of the design language used here and the improved materials over the Galaxy S21 make a big difference to how it feels to hold. The OLED screen is great, performance should be up there with the best and Samsung’s interpretation of Android 12 is easy to use and feature-rich. I do have some reservations, though. The battery is very small and even with the benefits of the efficient chip and screen I can’t see this getting through the day without some heavy sacrifices. The camera too needs to seriously impress, with both the Pixel 6 and iPhone 13 having seriously tremendous shooters in this price range.

The S22 and S22 Plus should be reliably good phones with premium design, great screens and nippy internals. Time will tell just how good their new camera system is, and whether the phones can hold their own against the 108MP behemoth – the S22 Ultra, or other champs like the iPhone 13 Pro and Pixel 6. Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet integrato nel SoC Samsung Exynos 2200. Basato sull'architettura AMD RDNA 2 con 3 CU (=192 shader). Prodotto nel moderno processo a 4nm (EUV).
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
