AMD’s chips are highly underrated right now. They don’t match the CPU performance you’ll find in a high-end workstation or the battery life you’ll find in a thin-and-light laptop, but they offer an excellent mix of both. Plus, this delivers an NPU fast enough for Copilot+ PC features, so the AI features here aren’t just marketing. If apps ever start taking more advantage of NPUs, you’ll want a fast one like the 50 TOPS NPU here — not the 12 TOPS NPU Intel is still delivering in most PCs. But this isn’t the be-all, end-all business laptop. The display drags down the overall experience, and the graphics performance just isn’t up there with the CPU and NPU performance.

The HP EliteBook 8 Flip 13 (G1i) is an odd duck, but it's also the right duck for a lot of professionals who need a compact, long-lasting, and versatile laptop for work — with a lot of features and options packed in that you simply can't find elsewhere. Add every option, and you could end up paying over $5,000 for a laptop that's less premium in many respects than more traditional flagships, but those laptops can't do what this one does. Also, it's pretty regularly on sale (while I'm writing this review, it's exactly 50% off on all configurations at HP.com). It's a truly unique laptop, and I can't help but praise it — even if the display and performance aren't anything to write home about. If you have a feeling this is the perfect productivity partner you've been seeking, you can get the HP EliteBook 8 Flip 13 (G1i) from $2,324 at HP.com (but, again, watch out for frequent discounts).

As far as performance, the story here is the story of Intel’s CPU troubles. After reviewing Lunar Lake laptops, I wince at seeing $2,000 Intel-powered productivity laptops with significantly lower graphics performance and power efficiency. And the Arrow Lake CPU here doesn’t deliver noticeably faster performance than Lunar Lake CPUs in our benchmarks.

HP: Fondata nel 1939, l'azienda statunitense è un importante produttore di server e stampanti e una delle aziende IT leader a livello mondiale. Fino al 2015, la società si chiamava Hewlett-Packard Company. Dopo una scissione, la divisione computer è stata ribattezzata HP Inc.

Nel 2023, HP deteneva una quota di mercato approssimativa del 22% delle vendite globali di PC, diventando così il numero 2 dopo Lenovo.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

AMD Radeon 860M: Una iGPU con architettura RDNA 3.5 piuttosto potente che ha debuttato all'inizio del 2025 e che è il diretto successore della Radeon 760M. Le sue 8 CU/WGP (512 shader unificati) funzionano fino a 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, generazione di immagini AI e altre funzioni moderne sono tutte supportate, così come molti codec video popolari, tra cui in primo luogo AVC, HEVC, VP9 e AV1. Le sue prestazioni di gioco sono abbastanza buone per giocare a 2024 giochi con impostazioni grafiche basse.

Intel Graphics 4-Core iGPU (Arrow Lake): Scheda grafica integrata basata sull'architettura Xe LPG (simile alle GPU Arc dedicate, ma con un focus sull'efficienza). Offre 4 core Xe (64 motori vettoriali Xe) e 4 unità di ray-tracing.

AMD Strix / Gorgon Point:

Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350: Un processore relativamente potente della famiglia Krackan Point, introdotto all'inizio del 2025. L'APU integra 8 core di CPU (4 core Zen 5 con un massimo di 5 GHz e 4 core Zen 5c con un massimo di 3,5 GHz). Rispetto al chip consumer quasi identico, il Ryzen AI 7 350la variante PRO supporta ulteriori funzioni di gestione e sicurezza.

Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 7 265U: Un chip di fascia media superiore della famiglia Meteor Lake che ha debuttato nel dicembre 2023. Questo processore Core Ultra di 1a generazione è arrivato a sostituire i processori Core di 13a generazione; ha 12 core (2 + 8 + 2) e 14 thread a disposizione. I core Performance, che sono 2, funzionano fino a 4,9 GHz, mentre i core Efficient, che sono 10 (8 core principali più 2 extra che si trovano nella Low Power Island), funzionano fino a 3,8 GHz. L'Intel Arc Graphics a 4 core, appena sfornato, funge da adattatore grafico integrato - funziona fino a 2,0 GHz - e c'è anche una serie di altre nuovissime tecnologie in offerta, tra cui la NPU AI Boost integrata con due motori Gen 3 per l'accelerazione hardware dei carichi di lavoro AI. Sono presenti anche vPro Enterprise e funzioni incentrate sul business, come la cancellazione remota della piattaforma. Il consumo energetico di base di questo processore per laptop è di 15 W, mentre il consumo massimo di energia Turbo raccomandato da Intel è di 57 W.
